Welcome.
If you are listening because you woke up in the middle of the night,
You don't need to make anything happen right now.
You are awake.
That's all we need to know.
You don't have to decide whether tonight will be bad.
You don't have to predict how tired you will feel tomorrow.
And you don't need to force yourself back to sleep.
Let your body stay exactly where it is.
Feel the bed beneath you.
The pillow beneath your head.
The weight of the blanket if there is one.
Notice one easy breath.
Than another.
For now,
Let being awake be temporary,
Not a problem you have to solve.
You do not need to know what time it is.
If you already looked at the clock.
That's okay.
You don't need to check it again right now.
The knight does not need to become a math problem.
How many hours are left?
How long you've been awake.
How much sleep you need.
How early morning will come.
Those calculations can wait.
Let the clock be somewhere outside this moment.
What matters now.
Is that your body is lying here.
Supported.
You are not required to sleep this minute.
You are only being invited to rest.
And rest still counts.
Even while you're awake.
You can let the body.
Do less.
Notice the back of your head against the pillow.
Let the muscles around your eyes do less.
Feel the jaw.
If your teeth are touching.
Let a little space form between them.
Notice the tongue resting inside the mouth.
Let it be heavy.
Feel the shoulders.
You don't have to pull them down.
Let the bed.
Take a little more of their weight.
Now,
Feel the arms.
The elbows.
The forearms.
The hands.
There is nowhere for the hands to reach tonight.
Nothing to type.
Nothing to hold together.
Let the fingers become quiet.
Let the bed hold more of you than you were asking it to hold a moment ago.
Bring some attention to your breathing.
Not to improve it.
Not to deepen it.
To notice that breathing is already happening.
You don't need a breathing technique.
To earn sleep.
Feel the inhale arrive on its own.
Feel the exhale leave on its own.
If it feels comfortable.
Give the exhale a little more room.
Not longer because you are counting.
Just less interrupted.
The body knows how to breathe while you sleep.
You do not need to manage every breath on the way there.
Let the next few breaths.
Belong to the body.
Not the thinking mind.
Bring awareness to the chest.
Notice whether it feels open.
Tight.
Warm.
Cool.
Heavy or quiet.
No need to change it.
Then notice the ribs.
The upper belly.
The lower belly.
You may be holding something here without realizing it.
See if the abdomen can soften by one small degree.
Not pushed outward.
Not pulled inward.
Just.
.
.
No longer braced for something.
Feel the lower back.
The pelvis.
The hips.
Let the center of the body become broad and heavy.
If thoughts are still moving.
They can move.
The body does not need to wait for the mind to become silent before it begins resting.
Let the body go first.
Bring your attention to your thighs.
The knees.
The calves.
The ankles.
The feet.
Notice the full length of both legs.
You don't need to relax them perfectly.
Just notice where effort is still hiding.
Maybe in the thighs.
The toes.
The arches of the feet.
Let those places have less work.
Imagine the weight of the legs settling downward into the mattress.
Not lifting.
Not preparing.
Nothing they need to carry until morning.
Let the feet be quiet.
Let the legs be heavy.
Let the lower half of the body rest.
Without asking.
Whether sleep has arrived yet.
Now notice the mind.
Maybe.
It's replaying something from earlier.
Maybe it's already moved into tomorrow.
Maybe it's searching for a reason you woke up.
The mind may still be awake.
That's okay.
You don't have to stop it.
Instead of asking the mind to be quiet.
Ask whether each thought needs you right now.
A thought about tomorrow can wait for tomorrow.
A conversation from yesterday.
Can remain unfinished tonight.
A question can still be a question in the morning.
You do not need to close every open loop before you sleep.
When another thought arrives,
You might say quietly,
Not now.
Not because it doesn't matter.
Because this is not the hour for it.
Let the thought remain unfinished.
And return to the weight of your own body.
For this part of the night.
Nothing useful is required of you.
You do not need to plan.
You do not need to understand.
You don't need to make tomorrow easier.
You don't need to be productive while awake.
No one is watching you to see if you use these minutes well.
Let this time be empty enough.
That the body can begin drifting again.
Feel the pillow.
The mattress.
The blanket.
The quiet weight of your own body.
If sleep comes,
You do not need to hear the rest of this meditation.
If you remain awake.
Don't worry that you're doing it wrong.
You can stay here with the sound of my voice.
Nothing is being asked of you.
If thoughts continue.
Let them become less specific.
Instead of following the whole story.
Notice only the first few words.
Tomorrow,
I need to.
.
.
And let it fade.
What if?
And let it fade.
I should have.
And let it fade.
You do not have to finish the sentence.
Let thoughts become fragments.
Than sounds.
Than background.
The mind can keep making small movements while you stop following them.
You don't have to push anything away.
Let each thought become less important.
Because you are no longer giving it the rest of the story.
Return to the body.
Happy.
Support it.
Already resting.
Now,
Let your attention drift slowly through the body without trying to stay anywhere.
Forehead.
Eyes,
Jaw.
Shoulders.
Hands,
Cheers.
Hips.
Legs.
No analysis.
No questions.
Only noticing.
And again more softly.
Face.
Shoulders.
Chess.
The body no longer needs your full attention.
Let awareness become loose at the edges of the body.
Become less interesting.
You don't have to hold the meditation together.
If tomorrow appears again,
Let it stay outside the room for now.
Tomorrow has its own light.
Its own sounds.
Its own decisions.
None of them are here yet.
You are here.
In darkness or low light.
In bed.
With nothing to begin with.
Nothing to complete.
Morning can have the morning.
This moment belongs to rest.
You don't have to prepare for waking up.
While you're still trying to sleep Let tomorrow remain unopened.
Like a door you do not need to walk through yet.
Notice if part of you is checking.
Am I sleepy yet?
Is this working?
How long have I been awake?
You can let those questions go too.
There's nothing to measure.
You are resting now.
That is enough.
Sleep may arrive gradually.
For all at once.
You may notice the exact moment.
You may not.
You don't have to watch for sleep.
Watching keeps you standing at the door.
Instead,
Let yourself rest without waiting for anything to happen.
Heavy body.
E-zebra.
Unfinished thoughts.
Nothing to solve.
From here,
You can let my voice matter less.
You don't need to follow every word.
You can hear a sentence and miss the next one.
You can drift in.
You don't need to remember anything.
You won't be asked about anything later.
Let the spaces between the words feel as useful as the words themselves.
Rest.
Nothing to do.
Nothing to fix.
Nothing to prepare.
Just this bed.
This bruh.
This moment.
If you are still awake,
Let that be okay.
You have not failed at sleep.
Your body is resting.
Your mind is slowing in its own way.
There is no deadline for the next moment.
Anytime you find yourself awake in the middle of the night.
You can return to this meditation.
You don't have to face the quiet hours alone.
And you do not have to figure out how to make sleep happen.
Come back.
Settle in.
Let the night stop being a problem to Sol.
And let rest be enough until sleep returns.
Before you drift away.
If you are still listening.
Take one quiet moment to thank yourself for choosing rest.
For giving your body less to carry.
For allowing this night to be imperfect without fighting it.
Thank you for listening.
And good day.
