Welcome.
Settle into a place where you plan to sleep.
Let your head be supported.
Let your body find the position it wants for the night.
You do not need a perfect posture.
You do not need to lie completely still.
If your body wants to shift later,
You can shift.
For now.
Notice the surface beneath you.
Feel where the bed receives your weight.
The day is finished.
Whatever happened today has already happened.
Whatever did not get finished.
Can remain unfinished for now.
You have reached the part of the day where nothing more is required from you.
Let that be true for this moment.
You do not need to make yourself sleepy.
You do not need to clear your mind.
You do not need to have a good meditation.
You are here to rest.
Let the bed hold more of you.
Let your weight settle down instead of holding yourself up.
One easy breath in.
And let it go.
Before you move farther into rest.
Notice whether part of the day is still following you.
Maybe a conversation is replaying.
Maybe you wish you had done something differently.
There is work left unfinished.
Tomorrow is already asking for your attention.
You do not have to sort through any of it.
Imagine the day as something you have carried in your hands.
All the small tasks.
The people.
The messages.
The decisions.
The things that went well.
The things that did not.
For tonight.
You can put the whole thing down.
Because none of it matters.
Because.
.
.
You do not need to hold it.
While you sleep.
If something seems important or needs your attention tomorrow.
You can meet it tomorrow.
If something cannot be changed.
You do not need to solve it tonight.
If you forgot something.
Your mind doesn't have to keep searching for it.
The day can be complete enough.
Let that phrase settle in.
Complete enough.
Bring your attention to your feet.
You do not need to relax them on command.
Just notice that they are no longer carrying you anywhere.
They have finished their work for today.
Let the ankles be loose.
Let the calves become heavy.
Let the knees rest.
Feel the weight of your thighs against the bed.
The legs do not have to take you anywhere else tonight.
Bring attention.
To the hips and pelvis.
Notice whether you're still holding yourself a little above the bed.
See if you can give the bed a little more of your weight.
Let the lower belly soften.
Nothing to pull in.
Nothing to protect.
Nothing to prepare for.
The body can become heavier.
Without you doing much at all.
Feel the lower back.
If it is comfortable.
Imagine the muscles around the spine.
Becoming less interested in working.
Not perfectly relaxed.
Just less busy.
The bet is here.
Gravity is here.
Let them do some of the work for you.
Bring your attention to the stomach and the ribs.
Notice the breath.
Moving there.
Without changing it.
The body knows how to breathe while you sleep.
You do not have to manage every inhale or every exhale.
Let the chest rest.
Let the shoulders drop toward the bed.
They do not need to carry today anymore.
Feel your arms becoming heavier.
Upper arms.
Elbows.
Forearms.
Hands.
Maybe the fingers uncurl a little.
There's nothing left to grip.
Nothing left to type.
Nothing left to hold together.
For the night.
Bring attention to the throat and jaw.
Let the teeth part slightly if that feels comfortable.
Let the tongue rest.
Soften the muscles around the mouth.
Let the eyes rest inside their sockets.
Smooth the forehead only as much as it wants to smooth.
The face does not need to respond to anyone.
You don't need to wear any expression here.
Notice,
One breath arriving.
Then notice it leaving.
If it feels comfortable.
Let the exhale last just a little longer than the inhale.
No counting is needed.
No perfect rhythm.
Just a little more time.
For the breath to leave.
Another breath comes in.
Ngoz out.
You may already feel sleepy.
You may feel wide awake.
Both are okay.
Sleep often comes more easily when we stop checking for it.
So from here.
You do not need to ask.
Am I sleepy yet?
You don't need to measure how relaxed you are.
You do not need to notice whether this is working.
Let the breath become less important.
Let my voice become less important.
You can listen closely.
Or you can begin to lose track of the words.
A thought may arrive.
Something from today.
Something from years ago.
Something about tomorrow.
The mind often becomes creative at bedtime.
It remembers what it forgot.
It rehearses conversations.
It solves problems that are not happening right now.
You do not have to fight that.
When a thought comes,
Notice it the way that you might notice a car passing outside.
And then let it continue on without getting in.
If the same thought returns,
That is okay.
You don't have to get frustrated with yourself.
You can meet it again with the same response.
Not now.
Tomorrow if it still matters.
Not now.
Maybe you cannot stop thinking about something because it matters deeply to you.
You don't need to convince yourself it doesn't matter.
You can care and still rest.
You can love someone and still sleep.
You can still be uncertain.
And still rest.
You can have an unfinished life.
And still let tonight be quiet.
Now,
Notice whether your mind has moved into tomorrow.
Plans.
Lists.
Appointments.
Family.
Things you want to remember.
Tomorrow may need your attention when it arrives.
But tomorrow is not here.
Right now,
There is a bed beneath you.
There is a room around you.
Breath moves without being asked.
Imagine closing a door gently on the day ahead.
Not locking it.
Not pushing tomorrow away.
Just closing the door until morning.
On the other side are the plans,
The responsibilities.
The answers you do not have yet.
They can remain there.
While you rest.
For tonight.
You are not behind.
You are not late.
You do not have to get ahead.
The only thing happening now.
Is rest.
And even rest does not have to become another task.
You can stop working at it.
Let the body be heavy.
Let the breathing be quiet.
Let the thoughts come and go without asking anything from you.
You don't need to reach anywhere.
There is no state you need to achieve.
No finish line inside this meditation.
If you are still awake.
You are still resting.
Your body is still supported.
Your eyes are still closed,
If that is comfortable.
You are still giving yourself a break from the day.
That counts.
You do not have to turn being awake.
Into a problem.
Let yourself stop trying to cross the line between awake and asleep.
You do not have to know when it happens.
You do not have to notice yourself falling asleep.
Your job is finished.
Sleep can find you when it finds you.
From here,
There will be fewer words.
You can let them move farther away.
Feel the bed beneath you.
Feel the weight of your body sinking into support.
Nothing to hold.
Nothing to finish.
Nothing to solve.
The day can fade now.
The room becomes less important.
Thoughts can become less interesting.
You do not need to follow them.
Your shoulders can rest.
Your hands can rest.
Your face can rest.
Your breath can find its own quiet rhythm.
And if sleep is close.
You can let my voice disappear into it.
You do not need to hear.
The End.
Of this meditation.
You do not need to remember.
Anything else.
Nothing is waiting for you here.
No question.
No instruction.
No need to respond.
Just rest.
The day is finished.
Tomorrow can wait.
You can rest now.
Let the words fade.
Let the body be heavy.
Let sleep come in its own time.
Before the words end.
Take one quiet moment to thank yourself.
Thank yourself for stopping.
For letting the day be finished.
For giving your body this time to rest.
You may return to this meditation whenever you notice that your body is ready for sleep.
But your mind is still carrying the day.
You do not need to wait for a difficult night.
You can return whenever you want a familiar way to put the day down.
You don't need anything else from me tonight.
Let yourself drift.
Thank you for listening.
