For today's session come into a seated position that feels alert but at ease.
Let the spine find its natural length.
Rest your hands wherever feels comfortable.
And then take a slow breath in.
And out.
Without searching for the right answer.
Can you simply ask yourself?
How do I actually feel right now?
There is no need to name it perfectly or at all.
Just give yourself a moment to notice what's present.
There's no wrong answer here.
Let your attention move slowly through your body.
The forehead.
The chest,
The throat.
The stomach.
The hands.
Notice where sensations are most present.
Is there tightness,
Ease,
Heaviness,
Or lightness?
Just observe for a moment without the need to fix anything.
Every feeling has a name.
Let it arrive in your mind.
Maybe it's tired or wired,
Flat.
Unsettled.
Fine.
Whatever it is,
It's allowed to be here.
Naming a feeling is one of the simplest ways to build a stronger relationship with it.
Whether that is enhancing its power or releasing it.
Staying with that feeling.
Ask yourself gently.
Has this been building for a while?
Or is it new today?
Try to accept the answer without frustration or the need to solve it.
Just allow it a presence.
Give it a voice.
Then let it resonate through your body through a few breaths.
Offering it acceptance and compassion with each round.
When we practice emotional fitness,
We don't try to control how we feel.
Instead,
We focus on staying in relationship with our feelings,
Giving them space to exist,
And shifting them to a more positive place.
From this new place of acceptance ask what does this feeling need right now?
Is it rest,
Movement,
Space or connection?
Try not to overthink and search for a whole image or full answer.
Sometimes a single word that comes to mind is all the direction you need.
Let whatever comes up first be enough.
Now check in with yourself.
Notice what has shifted around the emotion.
How has it reshaped through this short practice of checking in?
Without judgment.
And staying present.
Take one more deep breath in.
A little deeper than the rest.
And with the exhale,
Release the practice.
Let your awareness return to the room around you.
Notice the surface underneath you.
The temperature of the air.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes to welcome in the rest of your day.
Emotional fitness does not have to be complex.
The practice is simple.
And with repetition,
It builds foundational resilience.
