Aloha and thank you for joining me here for a meditation.
As you begin to get comfortable wherever you are.
I would like to encourage you to have a drink of water close by.
Or to position yourself near a window or a place to gaze outward.
As we start the Summer New Moon Meditation.
My name is Kat,
And I am grateful to guide you through this meditation today.
As you begin to find some stillness with your body now.
Go ahead and allow yourself to melt even deeper into the place that you are sitting.
Should there be any support behind your spine such as a cushion,
A wall,
Or a chair?
Acknowledge this sensation here.
As it supports and holds you.
Let that feeling of support.
Spread down your body into your legs.
Maybe they begin to feel a little heavier as they find stillness and balance.
Once the lower half of your body feels calm and comfortable.
Go ahead and let those sensations reach to the upper half of your body.
Bring your awareness to your shoulders as you lift them up to your ears.
And back down again,
Spreading your collarbones a little more and feeling your chest open.
You may bring a slight lift up of the chin.
And then loosen the lower jaw.
Letting a big exhale pass through your lips.
We'll go ahead and do that two more times.
Inhale through the nose.
Exhale through the mouth with a deep cleansing breath.
One more time in through the nose.
And out of the mouth.
Last but not least.
Bring your awareness up the body and allow your eyes to find a steady gaze.
Either out of the window at the sky.
Maybe add a body of water.
If you are in a place where you have your drinking water.
You may gaze upon that as well.
Start now by lifting the eyebrows on your forehead.
Three or four times.
And then letting your face soften.
Keeping that gaze forward wherever you have chosen.
Allow yourself a deep inhale here.
Imagining that clean fresh air to travel down into your belly,
Feeling your chest lift.
And then release a slow exhale from your nose,
Lips slightly shut.
Go ahead and take two more of those breaths here at your own pace.
In through the nose,
Out of the nose,
Slow and steady.
As you let go of that third round of exhale.
You may gently shut your eyelids now if you have not done so already.
Knowing that your body is safe and held here.
Can you imagine in your mind?
Or feel on your skin that soft breeze of summer.
Knowing that earlier your gaze was on sky or water.
Can you allow that image to form in your mind?
Maybe you can see those different shades of blue.
Such as a soft pastel.
On a bright day with fluffy clouds floating by.
Or maybe you see a darker blue.
Like the ocean right after it rains Witness this color,
Whichever you see.
On your next inhale.
Maybe you can breathe this color in.
Allowing it to expand within you.
Growing wider and brighter.
As you slowly exhale.
Do this about three to four times.
Simply noticing the sensations.
On your last round of breath.
Inhaling slowly.
Breathing in that color.
Maybe this light reminds you of the morning dew on the grass as the fog dissipates.
Or your color is a summer night after a swim in the pool.
Let your exhale carry you into that sensation.
No matter which moment you are in.
Know that your breath is precious.
As it has carried you through every experience.
The dark and the light.
Sometimes a fresh start,
A bright morning can be sudden,
Like a sunrise.
Know that you are capable of allowing yourself time to greet what's new.
Breathing here.
Allowing that color and that light to shine.
Offer yourself these moments to observe.
A little bit of time where you can pause.
Breathe.
And simply be.
What is here in this present moment?
What direction of your horizon is shining the brightest?
Go ahead and take three more deep breaths here.
In through the nose.
Slow and steady out of the nose.
As you find that last round of breath.
Maybe it sounds like ocean waves.
We'll take another breath here together.
And as you breathe in,
Let that light expand.
Whatever color you've seen in,
Let it grow.
And then your exhale lets it soften and fade like a sunset.
Go ahead and take one more final big cleansing breath here in through the nose.
Deep into the belly,
Exhale through the lips.
Letting anything go that you don't wish to hold on to.
And gently letting your eyes open before you carry on with your day.
Feel free to stay right here in this softness as long as you need.
And I look forward to practicing with you again.
Thank you for taking the time to join me for your meditation today.
The light in me honors the light in you.
Namaste.
