Hello my friend and welcome to this meditation.
Today's meditation is focused on bringing mindfulness to an everyday activity.
I invite you to consider a task or an activity that you're planning on doing already,
Such as doing the dishes or folding the laundry or maybe going for a walk.
And listen to this meditation while completing that task to help you tap into your senses and experience some deep mindfulness in this moment.
Once you're set up to begin whatever the task is that you need to complete,
I invite you to take a couple of deep breaths in through your nose,
Exhale through your mouth,
In through your nose,
And release.
One more inhale,
And exhale.
I invite you to notice what you're physically feeling in this moment.
Are you touching something?
Is there a specific temperature to what you're doing?
How do your feet feel?
Are they firmly on the ground as you stand?
Or maybe you're sitting and they're curled underneath you.
What about the clothing on your body?
Can you notice where it's touching your skin?
What else can you feel in this moment?
Deep breath in,
And exhale.
What do you see in this moment?
When you look straight ahead of you,
What do you notice?
When you look to the right,
What is there to see?
How about to the left?
Up and down.
When you're looking at something,
Can you search for a detail you may not have noticed before?
What do you see in this moment?
Deep breath in,
Release.
I invite you to notice what you hear.
Is the activity that you're doing creating noise?
What are you hearing in the distance?
And can you hear even further?
Is there a noise that you're curious about?
What do you hear in this moment?
Deep breath in,
Release.
What do you taste in this moment?
Are you sipping a beverage or munching on a snack?
Can you taste your toothpaste or maybe something you consumed earlier in the day?
You don't have to have any strong feelings about what you're tasting,
Just acknowledging that it's there.
What do you taste in this moment?
Do you hear a noise in the distance?
Deep breath in,
Release.
What do you smell in this moment?
Is the activity that you're doing producing a smell?
Maybe it's the smell of soap,
The smell of laundry detergent,
Or the smell of fresh air.
Maybe there's a candle lit nearby or coffee brewing.
Can you notice any smells outside of the first scent you experienced?
Is there something lingering beneath the surface?
What is it that you smell in this moment?
Deep breath in,
And exhale.
Noticing how you feel now that you've been fully mindful and aware of each one of your senses.
You allowed yourself to be completely in this moment and to experience this moment just as it is.
You're welcome to continue cycling through your senses,
Playfully noticing if anything new comes up,
And if all else fails,
Continue coming back to your breath.
One more deep breath in,
And release.
Thank you for joining me today.
I see you.
I love you.
Until next time.
