Welcome to this time you've set aside just for you.

This is a space for releasing comparison,

A space to hold yourself with kindness and compassion.

Find a comfortable position,

Either seated or lying down.

When you're ready,

Gently close your eyes,

Bringing your attention to your breath.

Notice each inhale and each exhale.

Allowing yourself to settle into this moment.

Let go of any need to change or fix anything,

Giving yourself permission to be exactly as you are right now.

As you continue breathing,

Bring to mind the desire all mothers share to be present,

To love well,

To nurture,

And to give.

Begin by offering yourself some kindness,

Silently repeating these words.

May I be kind to myself.

May I feel peace in my heart.

May I accept myself as I am.

Take a deep breath in,

And as you exhale,

Imagine releasing any feelings of comparison or judgment.

Now bring to mind the mothers you often compare yourself to.

Picture them in front of you,

As if you're offering them kindness,

Too.

Just as you are doing your best,

Remind yourself that they are,

Too.

Silently repeating,

May they feel peace in their heart.

May they be gentle with themselves.

May they be gentle with themselves.

May they know they are enough.

With your next breath,

Imagine any sense of tension or self-judgment softening.

Begin to shift your focus back to yourself.

Holding yourself with that same kindness you offered others.

May I let go of comparison.

May I be gentle with myself.

May I trust my unique journey as a mother.

As you breathe,

Notice if anything is off.

May feelings of compassion arrive.

Allow them to flow,

Filling you with a sense of peace and connection.

Remind yourself that there is no perfect way to be a mother.

You are enough as you are.

To close this meditation,

Place one hand over your heart space if it feels good.

And take a few deep breaths here.

Allow a sense of gratitude for yourself,

For showing up,

For being here.

For choosing kindness.

Whenever you're ready,

Gently open your eyes.

Take a moment to thank yourself for this practice.

Carrying this kindness with you.

Remembering that your journey is yours alone.

And that's what makes it beautiful.
