Welcome to this meditation to tune in with what is calling you Find your way to a comfortable position,
Lying down or sitting,
Whatever your body is asking for today.
And if it feels comfortable,
Let your eyes close.
Let's start with a slow breath in through the nose.
And a long soft sigh out through the mouth One more like that,
Breathing in.
And letting everything fall Let the breath return to its own rhythm now.
You don't need to control it,
Just let it move you.
And just take a second to notice yourself on the surface that you're laying or sitting on Just notice those parts of your body that are touching the surface beneath you The feet on the floor.
Legs.
The hips.
The back.
The head.
While you're tuning in with the body.
Notice if there's any tension and see if on the exhale you can soften the tension With every exhale letting go a little bit more.
Sinking deeper in the surface beneath you softening.
Relaxing.
.
.
And just notice how the breath is in this moment without wanting to change it.
Just be present with the breath.
And in this meditation I want to ask you a question It's a question most of us haven't been asked in a long time Or if you were asked,
We learned early on not to answer honestly.
And the question is.
.
.
What do you really want?
Not what you should want.
Not what would be reasonable.
Not what would impress anyone but what do you actually want?
And we're probably trying to answer this question with our mind It has been answering this question for you for years,
And most of its answers have been wrong.
Tonight we're listening with the body see if you can bring your awareness to your chest to your heart.
To the soft center of you and take a slow breath into that place creating some space from the inside and ask silently What do you want?
Just listen,
Don't push for an answer and maybe something rises,
An image,
A word,
A feeling,
A pull towards something Maybe nothing comes.
Maybe only a kind of softness.
Or a kind of ache.
All of it is information.
Now bring your awareness lower to your belly just like your heart,
The belly knows things that the head doesn't It has been holding your real wants since before you could speak.
So breathe into your belly and ask again softly.
What do you want?
Notice if anything has been waiting there Notice if there's a yes you've been swallowing.
Or a no,
You haven't let yourself say.
Or a direction you keep being pulled toward,
Even when you tell yourself to stop You don't have to do anything with what you find here You only have to let yourself know it So much of our lives we spend silencing this voice Maybe calling it impractical.
Or calling it selfish.
Or calling it too late.
But the voice doesn't go away.
It just gets quieter,
It waits and in this moment you're letting it speak Take one more slow breath into your whole body.
Feeling the belly the ribcage the chest And as you exhale,
Let yourself feel the truth of whatever has surfaced,
Even if it's small,
Even if it doesn't make sense yet You're allowed to want what you want You always were.
You can stay here as long as you need.
When you're ready,
Let your breath grow a little fuller.
Bring soft movement back into your fingers,
Your toes.
And remember.
.
.
Whatever called you tonight has been calling for a long time it will still be there tomorrow Your only job this week is to keep listening.
Thank you for breeding with me.
