Welcome to this meditation to discover the treasure beneath your dreams.
Find your way to a position where you can really let go.
Lying down is best for this one,
If you can.
Let the ground take your full weight If it feels comfortable for you,
Let your eyes close.
We're going to take our time today,
There's nowhere to get to,
Nothing to achieve,
Just let yourself arrive Take a slow breath in through the nose.
And a long soft sigh out through the mouth again breathing in And letting everything soften on the way out.
One more in your own rhythm.
And this time as you exhale,
Let your body get heavier.
Let the floor hold you completely You don't have to hold yourself up here.
And just for a moment feel the surface beneath you,
Feel how you're being carried On every exhale,
Soften a little bit more letting go of any tensions Soften the face.
Let go of that frown.
Gently loosen the jaws.
Soften the neck.
And the shoulders.
Soften the chest and the upper back Soften the belly and the lower back Soften the hips.
The upper legs.
The lower legs.
And your feet.
Surrendering to this moment staying present with the breath and the sensation in your body.
Find the natural rhythm of the breath And let's begin somewhere honest Many of us are carrying a quiet grief.
A grief for the things we haven't been able to go after.
The dreams that everyday life,
Its obligations,
Its responsibilities,
Its sheer relentlessness,
Never seemed to leave room for.
If there is an ache like that in you,
I want you to know it's welcome here We're not going to fix it.
We're not going to rush past it.
Because that ache is not a flaw.
It's not in gratitude it's not weakness It's love.
Love you have for a life you haven't fully let yourself live.
And the fact that it still aches means you're still alive to your own longing and that's something tender and precious Most people learn to go numb.
You haven't.
So let it be here.
Wherever you feel it in your body.
Your chest,
Your throat,
Your belly.
Just let it be felt breathe toward it.
Not to push it away.
Just to keep it company now gently i want you to let one of those dreams come forward Something you've longed for.
Something you've wanted but felt you couldn't have or couldn't reach or couldn't justify That might be big.
A different life,
A different path,
A freedom.
It might also be quieter.
A way of being,
A kind of peace.
A version of you that you can sense but haven't been able to become let one of them rise don't choose with your mind let your body offer the one that's most alive right now for you When you have it,
Just hold it gently in your awareness Don't analyze it,
Don't problem solve it just let it be here with you Now I'm going to ask you something and I want you to let the answer come from your body,
Not your thoughts If you had this dream,
If it were fully yours right now,
What would you feel?
Not what would happen,
Not what would change,
But what would you feel Would you feel free?
Would you feel at peace?
Would you feel alive?
Worthy?
Helped?
Spacious like you could finally exhale Let that feeling come forward.
The feeling underneath the dream Cause that feeling.
.
.
That's what you've actually been longing for all this time Dream is the container.
The feeling is the treasure.
And maybe give the feeling a name,
Softly,
To yourself Just a word.
Maybe freedom,
Peace,
Aliveness,
Home.
And here is what we are going to do now.
We're not going to wait for the dream to arrive in order to feel that We're going to let your body taste it right now,
Right here.
Because that feeling does not actually live inside the dream.
It lives inside you The dream was only ever the key you thought you needed.
About the door.
The door is already in your chest.
So bring that feeling to mind,
Freedom,
Peace,
Aliveness,
Whatever yours is.
And let me ask your body,
Where would you feel this if you were feeling it fully?
Maybe an openness in the chest,
Maybe a warmth in the belly.
Maybe a lightness across the whole body.
Maybe a settling,
A softening,
A sense of more room inside.
Find where it wants to live.
And breathe into that place.
Now gently let the feeling grow.
Not by forcing it,
But by allowing it Imagine the feeling as warmth or light or simply spaciousness.
And let it expand just a little with each breath Breathe into it.
Let it fill a little more of you.
If your mind says,
But it's not real,
You don't actually have the dream.
That's okay.
Let that thought pass like a cloud The feeling in your body right now is completely real.
Your nervous system cannot tell the difference between the freedom you imagine and the freedom you allow yourself to feel to your body,
This is the experience.
So let yourself have it.
Right now.
Without earning it,
Without waiting.
Without the dream having to come true first this freedom,
This peace.
There's aliveness.
It was never as far away as the grief believed.
Rest here,
Let your whole body soak it in.
Stay with the feeling as I speak.
What you've just touched is yours It didn't come from outside you,
It came from within you.
Which means you can return to it tonight,
Tomorrow,
In a difficult moment next week The breath is one doorway.
This feeling is always closer than you think.
And now something important this doesn't mean the dream doesn't matter It doesn't mean you should stop wanting it For some of you,
Touching this feeling now will be enough,
A great peace will settle and you'll realize you can live a full and beautiful life right where you are,
With what you have That's real.
That's not settling.
That's freedom.
And for some of you,
Tasting this feeling now will give you the courage to actually move towards the dream in your life.
Because you'll no longer be chasing it from emptiness.
You will be moving from fullness.
That's real too.
Both are right.
The point was never to stop chasing,
Or to keep chasing.
The point was to stop believing you can't have any of it until some far off day finally arrives.
You're freer than your grief knew.
And the treasure was never only at the end of the road,
You've been carrying it the whole time.
Begin gently to come back now Let the bread grow a little fuller.
Bring soft movement into your fingers,
Your toes Feel the ground beneath you again.
The room around you.
And bring one hand to your heart and the other to your belly to the place where you maybe just found what you've been looking for.
Whatever you're returning to today.
You're returning with the treasure already in your hands.
Thank you for breathing with me.
