Hello,

I'm Jackie.

Today we've practised noticing the good things all around us and we're going to use some affirmations to help us.

Affirmations are like little treasures for your heart.

Every time you say them,

You're collecting more joy and happiness.

Let's start with a deep breath in and out.

Breathe in and out.

I'm going to say some short phrases and then I'll pause so you can repeat them.

Ready?

Say after me.

I am thankful for my family.

I am thankful for my friends.

I am thankful for this brand new day.

And remember,

We can still be thankful even when things aren't perfect.

In fact,

Being thankful often makes them better.

Now,

Imagine you're standing beside a huge hot air balloon.

The balloon is brightly coloured and you can see the colour of the air.

And has the word gratitude written on it in big letters.

Gratitude is another word for being thankful.

Climb into the basket of your gratitude balloon because you're going for a ride.

Up you go into the sky.

Imagine your balloon floating higher and higher.

Say,

Gratitude lifts me up.

As you float along,

You see beautiful nature all around you.

Fields,

Forests,

Mountains,

Rivers and oceans.

And all the plants and creatures that live there.

Pick out a few of your favourites you'd like to say thank you for.

I'll start by saying three favourite things that I can see from my gratitude balloon.

Then I'll pause while you say yours.

Thank you for the beautiful flowers in the hedgerows.

Thank you for the dolphins swimming in the ocean.

Thank you for the warm sun shining in the sky.

Your turn.

You choose three and say them out loud.

Lovely.

Now say after me.

I can always find something to be thankful for.

Even on hard days,

I can still find one little thing to smile about.

Good thoughts bring good things to me.

I can always find something to be thankful for.

Great job.

Big smile now and say.

My smile spreads sunshine wherever I go.

Your heart is now full of thankfulness.

Carry your treasures of gratitude through the day and share them with others.

Bye for now.
