Before we begin,
Ensure you are in a quiet,
Safe space where you can close your eyes and comfortably turn your full attention inward.
Please do not listen to this practice while driving,
Operating machinery,
Or engaged in any activity that requires your active focus.
Please give yourself a few moments of complete uninterrupted stillness.
Find a comfortable position and allow your body to gently settle into the support beneath you.
Softly close your eyes and bring your awareness into this present moment.
Notice where your body makes contact with the surface beneath you.
The steady support holding you up without any effort on your part.
Set down the weight of your true due.
Set down the weight of your to-do list,
Demands,
And expectations.
You do not need to accomplish anything right now.
Give yourself full permission to simply pause.
Before we start,
Notice how your breath moves in this moment.
Feel the subtle cool air entering your nostrils.
Feel the rise and fall of your chest and belly.
Acknowledge any physical tightness or mental disturbances currently present without any judgment.
With each intentional breath you're about to take.
You're choosing to step out of the rush and into this moment.
Letting your awareness settle inward.
Ready to welcome peace and release what no longer serves you.
Now,
Inhale,
Taking a deep,
Slow breath in through your nose,
Drawing in calm and peace.
Feel it expand your lungs and fill your heart space.
As you exhale,
Soften your shoulders and blow the air out slowly through your mouth.
Letting all of the accumulated stress,
Pressure,
And tension within your body go.
Let your muscles melt and your body receives the signals that you are safe to soften and let go.
Again,
Until calm and peace.
While exhaling stress and tension.
I invite you to continue this at your own pace,
Thinking the words calm and peace as you inhale,
And the words stress and tension as you exhale.
Now gently bring your focus back to the room around you.
Remember that stress is just a temporary energy passing through.
It rises,
Moves,
And ultimately fades away.
You are the calm,
Steady center which it flows through.
When you feel ready.
Take one last deep breath in through your nose,
Completely filling your lungs.
And let it out through your mouth with a soft sigh.
Gently wiggle your fingers on your tongues and open your eyes.
