Welcome,
Beloved.
This is a gentle grounding meditation to support your nervous system in settling and remembering safety.
As we begin,
Know this.
You are held in choice here.
You may listen,
Pause,
Or stop at any time.
Nothing is required of you.
If it feels supportive,
Allow your body to rest in a way that feels kind,
Seated,
Reclined,
Or simply as you are.
Let us arrive together.
Begin by noticing the places where your body is supported,
The surface beneath you,
The steadiness of contact,
The quiet truth that you are being held.
There is nothing to change,
Nothing to improve.
Just this moment,
Exactly as it is.
If your attention wanders,
Gently return to the sound of my voice.
I am here with you.
Now softly orient to your surroundings,
Perhaps noticing sounds near or far,
Or the subtle presence of the space you are in.
If it feels okay,
You may silently offer yourself these words,
In this moment,
I am safe enough.
Not perfect,
Not finished,
Just safe enough.
Let the words land in their own way.
Gently bring awareness to your feet,
Noticing sensation or the absence of sensation.
There is no correct experience.
Slowly allow awareness to rise through the legs,
The hips,
The belly,
The heart.
If you encounter tension or discomfort,
Meet it with tenderness rather than effort.
You are not here to force relaxation.
Your presence is enough.
Now become aware of the natural rhythm of your breath.
No shaping,
No directing.
Simply noticing where the breath is easiest to feel.
At the nostrils,
The chest,
Or the gentle rise and fall of the belly.
Let the breath move as it wishes.
You are listening.
Imagine your awareness gently rooting into your body,
Like roots finding the earth,
Steady,
Patient,
Alive.
With each exhale,
There may be a subtle softening,
A quiet settling.
And if nothing changes,
That is welcome too.
The nervous system opens through kindness.
As we begin to close,
Notice how you are now without comparison,
Without judgment.
You might offer gratitude to yourself for this moment of care.
And when you're ready,
Gently widen your awareness,
Bringing this grounding with you as you move back into your day.
Thank you for sharing this practice with me.
