Navigating Challenges,
Day 4 from self-doubt to self-confidence.
Welcome to the fourth day of your meditation journey.
Let's begin by settling into a comfortable,
Balanced position.
Take three slow breaths,
Breathing in gently but fully.
Feel a pause,
Then exhale a little longer than the inhale.
As you inhale,
Let your chest gently rise and your belly expand.
As you exhale,
Notice how the body naturally settles.
Use the inhale to intentionally refresh your cells.
Use the exhale to relax and arrive in this moment.
Feel a slow,
Steady rhythm of your breath moving through your body.
Recall your physical and mental state over the last few days and weeks.
If you can hear yourself talk,
What does it say?
Is it encouraging?
Or discouraging.
Uplifting?
Or depressing.
Sometimes we can't hear our own self-talk,
But we can still feel its impact.
Does yours make you feel strong?
Or vulnerable.
Optimistic?
Or overwhelmed.
For a few breaths,
Just listen and feel yourself talk.
Noticing impartially what your mind and body are experiencing.
Our self-talk affects how we see ourselves.
And how we show up.
But it's not the truth.
Its words and beliefs picked up over a lifetime.
They had an emotional impact,
So they stuck.
Some of these thoughts replay like an old recording.
Not because they are true,
But because they are familiar.
When life is easy,
Our self-talk tells us how wonderful we are.
When life turns hard,
Our self-talk turns negative.
In reaction,
The breath becomes shallower,
The chest collapses,
The shoulders round.
In this state,
We step back into what's familiar,
Not forward into the unknown.
Our minds try to keep us safe by playing old tapes,
By staying with the familiar.
And so we hesitate.
We waver.
We doubt.
We replay past mistakes.
Seeing them as personal failures rather than part of the human experience.
But remember that self-confidence is our natural state,
Driving us forward like a child learning to walk,
Never doubting itself through all the ups and downs again and again and again.
Let's shift our mindset now.
Our thoughts are affected by our posture.
So lengthen your spine.
Bring your shoulder blades together.
Sit tall and proud.
Feel strength and space within your body.
This little shift.
Brings your body and mind back from negative to neutral.
Now if any self-criticism arises,
Just observe it with curiosity.
Don't resist it or argue.
Just observe.
With each inhale,
Notice any thought that arises.
And on the exhale.
.
.
Let it go.
Remind yourself.
This is just a thought.
Not a fact.
This is just an old mental habit.
Not a truth.
Sitting tall,
Continue inhaling strength and confidence and exhaling self-doubt.
And criticism.
Be kind to yourself.
Be gracious.
No one is perfect.
No one is meant to be.
You're perfectly human.
Learning as you go.
Challenges aren't failures.
Their chances to grow.
Continue in the same rhythm.
Inhaling fully.
Exhaling gently.
Breathing in confidence and conviction.
Breathing out doubt and criticism.
Bring your attention to your heartbeat,
Steady and strong.
Remember you don't have to make every decision today.
And your actions don't have to be perfect.
Just show up.
Take a step.
Then course correct.
Take another step.
Then course correct.
You are just being human.
Walking your life's path.
When you're ready.
Take a long inhale.
And on the exhale,
Gently open your eyes.
Coming back to the room.
Feeling centered.
Feeling calm.
Ready for the rest of your day.
Thank you for taking the time to meditate with me today.
Until next time.
Namaste.
