Cleansing Light Meditation Welcome to the Cleansing Light Meditation.
This short meditation uses the imagery of a warm light to cleanse,
Refresh,
And invigorate your mind and body.
This meditation is best done seated or kneeling comfortably so you can both relax completely and elongate your spine.
Of course,
If lying down or standing would work better for you today,
That's fine too.
Let's begin by taking a few cleansing breaths.
Inhale fully,
Feeling the chest and belly move,
Bringing your shoulder blades together on your back.
Exhale slowly and fully through the mouth,
Then close the lips gently.
Inhale slowly,
Filling your lungs and sending fresh oxygen and nutrients to all of your cells.
Exhale completely,
Releasing carbon dioxide and cellular waste from every cell.
Take a full body breath as if you're breathing in from the soles of your feet to the top of your head.
Then exhale fully from the top of your head down through the soles of your feet.
Then mentally take a step back,
Releasing conscious control of the breath.
Allow the breath to breathe the body,
Feeling its slow and steady rhythm.
Imagine a warm light above your head like a soft sun,
Sending light and warmth onto and into your body.
Imagine the light slowly warming your head,
Flowing down your scalp and your face.
Feel the light's warmth fill and soften your eyes to help you see and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you.
Feel the light fill and warm your ears so you hear with compassion.
Feel the light fill your mouth and warm your lips,
Taking away any desire to speak harshly or cruelly.
Feel the light flow down your neck,
Relaxing your muscles so your head can turn easily,
Seeing all viewpoints.
Feel the light warm your shoulders,
Releasing tension,
Creating a posture of openness.
Feel the light continue down your arms,
Strengthening them so you can lift others up.
Feel the light move into your palms and your fingers to support your acts of creation.
Let your body become lighter with each cycle of breath.
Feel the light flow into your heart,
Filling it with compassion for yourself and others.
Let the light continue to flow down your torso,
Cleansing and refreshing your organs.
Wherever the light goes,
Notice you feel healthier and stronger.
Feel the light continue into your pelvis,
Opening your hips and your lower back,
Allowing you to move freely.
Feel the light flow into the muscles and joints of your legs so you can walk confidently along your life's path.
Feel it flow down to your feet and toes so they will always point you in the right direction.
Now,
Feel the warm light flowing down from above your head through your whole body down to your toes.
Feel your connection to the heavens and to the earth.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling the lungs and sitting tall.
Take a long,
Slow exhale out.
Bring your attention to your warm,
Illuminated,
Cleansed body,
Feeling lightness and renewed energy in every cell.
In your own time,
Gently open your eyes and return to the room refreshed and ready for the rest of your day.
