Hello everybody,
It's me Annemarie from Heavenly Healing.
I think I actually need to change that intro now to something else.
Anyway,
It's Tuesday so what have we got?
Another edition of Teach Me Tuesday.
Today we're going to talk about the feather and specifically the feather's spiritual significance.
In many cultures feathers are seen as symbols of higher thought,
Spiritual growth and also of freedom.
Feathers represent a connection to the divine,
Often considered messages from the spiritual realm,
Offering guidance and reassurance.
Many indigenous cultures have used feathers in rituals and also as sacred objects.
Let's explore some specific feather meanings.
The peacock feather symbolizes beauty,
Integrity and the all-seeing eye linked to protection and vision.
This is very,
Very difficult,
Different to the common belief.
I've got a huge bowl of peacock feathers in my passage and people who come here often say,
Oh that's so bad.
Peacock feathers are a bad omen but that's just folklore and that folklore seems not to be real or true because your peacock feather symbolizes beauty,
Integrity and the all-seeing eye linked to protection and vision.
For me,
Peacocks have always been beautiful creatures and that's why I've had the as a symbol of beauty but now I see that it's also a symbol of protection.
Owl feathers are associated with wisdom and intuition,
Giving insights into the mysteries of life.
Have any of you ever seen owl feathers?
They are the most beautiful,
Beautiful feathers on earth.
They are of my favorite feathers.
I was lucky enough one day to pick up literally a whole handful of owl feathers and I created a couple of smudging tools with the feathers and they were just so beautiful and the energy,
Funnily enough,
That came off the owl feather was also incredibly strong.
Owls and I do resonate.
I even have earrings that are of owl's wisdom.
Owls are wisdom.
And then chicken feathers.
Did you guys know that chicken feathers symbolize nurturing and fertility?
Now I'm not talking about the ones that you find on modern day dreamcatchers where they've been dyed red,
Yellow,
Green or purple.
I'm talking about the real,
Just natural chicken feather.
When it comes to smudging,
Feathers are often used to waft the smokes of the sacred herbs,
Cleansing spaces and also used to cleanse your aura.
And yes,
Lastly,
We have to touch on feathers as signs from loved ones who have passed.
A very comforting belief that they send feathers as a sign of their presence and also as a sign of their love.
I know sometimes in the mornings when I go to the gate and I unlock,
I'll find a little feather there and I'll say,
Hi dad or hi mom,
Depending on who the feather resonates with.
And in my heart,
I'm 100% sure that it's either my mom or my dad.
