Welcome,
Beautiful soul.
My name is Annemarie Baviers.
Thank you for choosing to spend these sacred moments with me.
The meditation is created to guide you into a space of calm,
Connection,
And gentle transformation.
Today's meditation is focused on the fact that you are not responsible for their actions.
You.
Thank you for choosing to be here today.
Take a slow breath in.
And slowly breathe out.
Let your shoulders soften.
Let your jaw relax.
And if it's comfortable for you,
Gently close your eyes.
Today we're going to explore what happens after you've set the boundary.
Because sometimes saying the boundary is not the hardest part.
Sometimes the hardest part is witnessing how someone responds.
They may become disappointed.
They may become angry.
They may withdraw.
They may accuse you of changing.
Maybe they tell you that you're selfish.
And caring.
Difficult.
Or no longer the person you used to be.
And when that happens.
You may feel an immediate urge to take your boundary back.
To apologize,
To explain.
To make things better.
To return to the familiar role of keeping everyone comfortable.
But someone else's reaction does not.
Automatically mean that your boundary was wrong.
Their discomfort may simply mean.
They are meeting a limit.
That they were not used to seeing.
Imagine now that you are standing beside a very calm lake.
You have just placed a small stone into the water.
This stone is your boundary.
The ripples begin to move outward.
You can see them.
But you do not need to chase them.
You do not need to smooth the surface with your hands.
You do not need to stop the ripples from happening.
The lake is allowed to respond.
And you.
Are allowed to remain on the shore.
Breathe in.
And how.
And repeat quietly to yourself.
Their reaction belongs to them.
Again.
Their reaction belongs to them.
Their feelings are real.
They are not automatically your responsibility.
You can have compassion for someone without changing your decision.
You can understand their feelings.
Without taking them on.
You can love someone without rescuing them from every disappointment.
Place your hand over your heart.
Your beautiful heart centre.
And gently say to yourself I can let people feel what they feel.
I do not have to fix every uncomfortable moment.
I do not have to make my boundary easier for someone else to access.
I can stay connected to myself.
While someone else is upset.
Now notice your body.
Perhaps there is tension in your chest.
Perhaps your stomach feels tight.
Perhaps you feel the familiar pool.
To explain yourself.
Imagine that pool as a thread extending from your body towards the other person.
You do not need to cut it with anger.
Simply loosen your grip.
Let the thread become softer.
Let it return to them.
Their emotions can belong to them.
Your emotions can belong to you.
And there can be space between you.
Without there being a lack of love.
Now imagine yourself standing firmly on the ground.
Your feet are supported.
Your breath is steady.
And you can say.
.
.
I hear that you're upset.
And that answer is still no.
Please.
I understand that this is disappointing.
And I am still choosing what is right for me.
Simply I am not going to discuss this further.
You do not need to become cold.
You do not need to become defensive.
You only need to remain rooted.
Repeat quietly.
I am responsible for my choices.
I am responsible for communicating with care.
I am not responsible for controlling someone else's feelings.
I can allow discomfort without abandoning myself.
Take one deep breath.
Let the truth settle deeply.
Someone else's unhappiness is not proof that you have done something wrong.
Sometimes it is simply proof that you have stopped doing what they wanted.
When you're ready,
Slowly begin.
Returning to the room.
Roof fingers.
And Wiggle your toes.
Take a gentle,
Deep stretch.
And slowly open your eyes As you move through your day,
May you remember this.
You can be compassionate.
Without becoming responsible for everyone else's emotional experience.
You can hold your boundary.
Even when someone else sees it.
Does not like it Take your turn now.
And write about this question.
Whose reaction am I trying to control?
What do you imagine would happen?
If you allowed that person to feel Disappointed.
Angry or uncomfortable.
Then complete the sentence.
I can.
Care about their feelings without us.
And perhaps write this somewhere that you can see it today.
Their reaction belongs to them.
Thank you for sharing this peaceful space with me.
I honour your time,
Your presence and your willingness to show up for yourself.
Until we meet again,
Stay grounded,
Stay open and above all,
Stay kind to your soul.
Thank you.
