This is a guided sleep meditation designed to support rest throughout the night.
You don't need to stay awake or follow what's being said.
If you fall asleep,
Wake briefly,
Or drift in and out,
Everything here will continue to support rest without requiring any of your attention.
Settle in to whichever position feels comfortable.
Notice the surface beneath you.
Steady,
Unmoving,
Doing the work of holding you.
There is nothing else that you need to accomplish tonight.
Nothing you need to imagine.
Nothing you need to remember.
This time is for rest.
You may notice the rhythm of your breathing.
Moving in and out without any effort.
There's no need to change it.
The body already knows how to breathe,
How to rest,
How to sleep.
If thoughts arise,
They don't require any attention.
They can pass through in the background like quiet sounds that don't need to be followed.
With each moment,
The body can settle a little more.
Not because you're trying but because nothing is being asked of you.
There is nothing you need to picture right now.
Nothing you need to hold in mind.
You can allow the words to pass by without listening closely or you can let them fade into the background.
Both are fine.
The body is already resting in its own way.
Muscles soften when they are ready.
Breathing deepens when it deepens.
Sleep comes when it comes.
You don't need to help it.
Moments stretch gently here without needing to go anywhere.
There is no direction,
No beginning or end to follow.
Just this quiet space where nothing is required.
