We love it.
Find your way into a seated position that feels like a sanctuary.
Let your spine be a gentle vertical river.
And feel the weight of your body settling.
Into the embrace of the seat beneath you.
Close your eyes.
Or soften your gaze.
And let the heavy cloak of the day fall from your shoulders.
We are here to meet the part of you that has been standing watch.
The part that is ready to shield.
We are here.
To tell every cell.
In your being.
For this moment.
And the moments that follow.
The world is at peace with you.
There are times when the body becomes a fortress.
When the shoulders rise to protect the neck.
And the belly tightened to guard the center.
This is the ancient song of fight or flight.
A sacred instinct that has kept your lineage alive.
A surge of readiness that resides in the very marrow of your bones.
If you feel a hum of electricity in your limbs.
Or a bracing in your chest.
Do not treat it as an intruder.
It is simply your own love.
Dressed in armor.
I am to keep you whole.
We are here to offer that love a softer garment.
We are here to invite the muscles to remember.
Sweetness of yielding.
Turning the high alert into a long,
Slow exhale of belonging.
You have been a brave traveler.
Navigating landscapes that required you to be sharp and swift.
But here.
In the quiet garden of this brass.
Are secure.
The air is kind.
You are committed.
Unleash the tension.
And let the inner waters become still and clear.
We are listening for the melody of your arrival.
The sound of a heart.
That knows it is safe.
We saw.
Visualize now a luminous silver current a stream of liquid light.
Beginning to glow at the crown of your head.
Feel it awake.
Cool and steady.
As it begins to flow down the length of your spine.
It moves through every vertebra.
Washing away the heat of the day.
Pickling down.
Until it reaches the base of your tailbone.
From there,
It pours effortlessly out.
Diving deep into the cooling layers of the earth.
You are a conduit.
Of this silver gray.
And to the heart of the world.
By a river that never ends.
We move now into our first somatic release.
Bring your awareness to your shoulders and your neck.
Place where we carry the weight of our vigilance.
On your next inhale.
Draw your shoulders up towards your ears.
Being firm,
Solid.
Wall of strength.
You have the power in that movement.
Now hold it for three.
One.
And as you exhale,
Let them cascade down.
Imagine their heavy velvet curtains falling to the floor.
Let's do that again.
Lift your shoulders.
Two,
One,
And exhale,
Release.
One more time.
Drawing the shoulders up on the inhale.
And hold for 3 seconds.
One,
Exhale,
Let it go.
You the length of your nap.
Openness of your throat.
You are allowing the armor to slide away.
Revealing the grace we need.
Our second movement invites the breath to soothe the belly.
Of our instincts.
Place both hands over your navel.
As you inhale.
Push your belly out into your hands.
Making it as round and soft as possible.
As the sun warmed.
Feel the internal space expanding.
As you exhale,
Let the belly fall back toward the spine,
Releasing the grip of the core.
Do this three times.
Each breath becoming slower.
Each release becoming deeper.
You are teaching your center.
But the sky is clear.
Good.
Now our third movement brings fluidity back to the spine and hips.
While remaining seated.
Begin to make slow,
Gentle circles with your torso.
Inhale as you lean forward,
Opening the heart.
And exhale as you circle back.
Rounding the spine and letting that silver current carry away any lingering tightness.
And again inhale leaning forward open the heart nice and wide Exhale,
Circle back around your spine,
Release.
And do that again.
Feel the massage of your internal organs,
The oiling of the joints.
You are moving like tall grass in a gentle breeze.
So cool.
Resilience.
And connect it to the room.
Keep moving with your breath.
Finding space.
With making bigger circles.
And then begin to make them smaller.
Change direction.
Continue circling like that.
Finding your rhythm,
Finding your flow.
Deep in the breath.
Come to a gentle pause.
Breathe into the very back of your body.
Into the space between your shoulder blades.
Imagine that silver light spreading across your skin.
Melting in the remaining ripples of readiness.
Your soul at rest in its own home.
Repeat these words gently,
Internally,
To yourself.
I am safe.
I am supported.
I am at home in my skin.
Take a final deep and expansive breath.
Feeling the air reach into the very depths of your being.
Let the exhale be a long,
Melodic sigh,
A song of total surrender to the peace of this moment.
As you return to the rhythm of your day.
Move slowly.
Carry the softness of your heart as your greatest strength.
You are life itself unfolding in perfect safety.
Go with grace.
We love it.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
