Greetings and welcome.
In this meditation,
We'll explore how to loosen the grip of negative thoughts and step into a space of clarity and ease.
Instead of pushing thoughts away,
We will gently separate from them,
Unblending from their weight,
Observing them with curiosity,
And offering ourselves kindness.
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable position and allow your body to settle.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in and exhale fully,
Releasing any tension.
Bring awareness to the support beneath you,
Noticing the gentle weight of your body resting,
Held by the earth or the chair beneath you.
Let your breath flow naturally,
Feeling its rhythm like a steady wave.
Now,
Shift your awareness to your mind.
Notice if any negative thoughts are present.
Rather than engaging,
Imagine each thought as a shape or a color appearing in front of you.
Observe them.
Are they heavy or light?
Fast or slow?
As you watch,
Remind yourself,
This is just a thought,
Not my truth.
Now,
Imagine stepping back from the thought,
As if watching it on a screen or floating on a leaf in a stream.
Breathe in spaciousness.
With each inhale,
Feel yourself separate from the thought,
As if expanding beyond it.
Say to yourself,
I am not my thoughts,
I have thoughts.
Notice what happens when you give yourself permission to unblend.
Now,
Place a gentle hand over your heart or another place that feels comforting.
Speak to yourself as you would a dear friend.
I see you,
I hear you,
I am here with you.
Now,
Imagine sending warmth to the part of you that carried this thought,
As if wrapping it in a soft light.
Breathe into this kindness.
You are learning,
Growing,
And worthy of patience.
Now,
Take one last deep,
Soothing breath in and out.
Slowly bring awareness back to your surroundings,
Wiggling your fingers and toes.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Carry this spaciousness and self-compassion with you,
Knowing you can return to it anytime.
