This is a two-minute body scan.
It's not about calming down and it's not about feeling a certain way by the end.
It's just information.
A chance to notice what's going on in your body right now.
You don't have to change anything you find.
You're just checking in.
You can do this with your eyes closed or open,
Sitting or lying down.
Whatever works for you right now.
This is yours.
No one else needs to know you're doing it.
Let's start at the top.
Notice your head.
Any tension in your jaw.
Your forehead.
Around your eyes.
You don't need to relax if it's tense.
Just notice it's there.
Move down to your shoulders.
Are they up in your ears or drop down?
Either one is fine.
Just information.
Notice your chest and your breathing.
Not changing it,
Just noticing the pace it's already at.
Fast.
Slow.
Shallow,
Deep.
Whatever it is now is accurate information about where you're at.
Move to your stomach.
Tight,
Relaxed,
Something in between.
No judgment.
Some days it's tight,
And that's not a problem to fix right now.
Notice your arms down to your hands.
Are they tense,
Loose,
Resting or clenched?
You get to decide if you want to shift anything or not.
Move down through your legs to your feet.
Notice where they are touching the ground or the chair.
Some people find this part grounding,
And some don't.
There's no right reaction here.
You're just noticing what's true for you.
That's it.
Two minutes,
Just noticing.
Nothing you found needs to be fixed now unless you want to do something about it.
This wasn't about changing how you feel.
It was about knowing.
You can do this anytime.
The hallway at school.
A car.
Five minutes before something stressful.
Or just because.
It's yours,
So use it however it works for you.
That's the whole skill.
