Hi,
My name is Dika and welcome to the FEM embodiment quest.
Today is day number nine and we're working with the theme or the word emotion.
When we take a little closer look at that word,
We can see that basically it stands for energy,
The E,
In motion,
In a movement.
And when we think about emotions like that,
It's just energy that wants to move,
That wants to express itself,
It becomes way less daunting and scary to think of your emotions and it becomes way easier to connect to your emotions in a way where you're like,
Okay,
Instead of trying to control them and hold on to them and resist them,
What would happen if I just let that energy move?
And when I just sort of surrender and lean back and give my body the power to feel and to express and use my body as a tool in that way to basically embrace and work with my emotions.
Because specifically for us women,
Our emotions,
Our feelings,
That's a big part of our power.
We are very sensitive and we have that power to feel and to really bring that sort of aliveness to this world.
And our emotions are part of that because the emotions are like the weather,
Which changes from sun to rain to thunderclouds to grayness back to blue skies,
And it's not logical.
And so the more we are trying to make it logical,
Like try to make the weather logical,
The more frustrated we get and the more energy we spend on something that cannot be controlled.
So the best thing that we can do when it comes to our emotions is actually learn to play with them,
Find a way to move with them,
To basically witness them without trying to control or contract.
And so today's exercise and embodiment practice is about that.
We're going to be playing with different emotions and try to find a way to use the body to feel and express and move that energy.
Okay,
One bell marks the start,
Three bells marks the end,
And I'll guide you step by step through this beautiful embodiment practice,
One of my favorites,
And it's taught me so much about learning to love and really work with my emotions and really see them and use them as my feminine superpower.
Okay,
Let's begin.
You can take a moment here to place your hands in front of your chest,
Just tuning in with that word emotion,
Energy and motion,
Setting an intention for yourself.
Okay,
Beautiful.
And then from here,
We're going to just briefly warm up the body a little bit.
And I want you to feel the difference between really tensing and relaxing.
So imagine that sometimes with an emotion,
It's like a balloon,
And we're trying to press that underwater,
Trying to hide it,
Trying not to see it.
So imagine that force.
So just use your body for a moment to imagine pushing that ball underwater.
So really tense your arms,
Tense your legs,
Your core,
Be like,
Ah,
I'm trying to keep that underwater.
Feel how much energy expense it takes to really keep that ball underwater.
And now letting it go 123.
And letting your body just move naturally a little bit of how it wants to sway.
Imagine you're pressing down anything that you didn't want to feel or face,
And you're just trying to sort of hide that within your being,
But it's already here and you know it.
That's how it goes with emotions.
And you're like,
And you're maybe not aware that this happens inside of you,
But somewhere it is.
So make it make it visible.
Make it felt by using your body tense,
Tense,
Tense,
Tense.
And now you decide to just feel it.
Let it go 123.
You're letting that ball pop up and you're letting your body just flow.
Beautiful.
So this is the idea that we're coming back into this sort of flow state within.
We're using the body to express,
To relax,
To open up.
So we don't resist a feeling.
We let it wash through us and then it can pass on and move on.
So from here,
We're going to come to standing.
And just taking a moment here to maybe stretch your hamstrings,
Stretch your body in whatever way that feels good.
Maybe opening your hips.
Maybe giving your body a little shake,
A little shimmy.
Beautiful.
Okay.
And then from here,
We're going to work with a few different emotions and finding a way to sort of dance and move and express that emotion with the body.
And so it's not that you have to feel that emotion right now,
But it's more like,
Hey,
Imagine that feeling is here.
What if you would become fear itself?
And for a moment,
Every cell in your body is fear,
But you're not afraid or resisting to feel it.
You just allow your body to be a tool to express,
To move that fear.
So let's just explore with that.
The most important thing here is just to explore.
Okay.
So we're going to start with fear and I'll do it with you so you can see what I'm doing as an example and inspiration,
And then find your own expression.
Good thing is here to move,
To see,
Okay,
How would I dance or move fear?
So do it with me if you're not already,
Like as if you're trying to hide or run from like a big bear or something that really terrifies you.
And now fear transitions,
Just like the weather into sudden,
Into joy.
So how you dance and move joy.
So if you're not already doing it with me,
Try to find and explore how does your body can become fully joy through movement.
And for a moment,
The weather again transitions,
Clouds come in,
Rains start drizzling,
And you're noticing a sense of sadness.
How would you express and move sadness?
And so the invitation is to really use your body because with sadness,
We often try to make ourselves really small and contract,
Which is okay,
But we're holding on to it.
Now,
Move it,
Express it,
Let it be energy in motion.
And letting the rain transition into this very beautiful mystical sunset vibes,
Connecting to love.
How would love be danced or expressed in motion through your body?
And so explore it for you can look very different than it does for me.
And then from here,
Slowly finding a way to come to stillness.
You can either stand or sit.
I'm just taking a moment to let all of that energy,
That movement settle.
Imagine like a muddy river that got stirred up.
We felt,
We expressed,
And then over time,
When it becomes calm,
The sand,
The mud,
Sediment floats back down to the ground.
The sense of clearness,
Clarity comes up.
The river is clean again.
And the bottom,
The ground,
The sand is always shifted,
Never the same constellation.
That's the transformation that happens every time you allow that energy to move,
To feel what needs to be felt.
So letting that process happen within by being in stillness here.
Those three bells mark the end of this embodiment practice.
Taking a moment to thank yourself for showing up.
Thank you.
