Hi,
My name is Dika and welcome to the Femme Embodiment Quest.
This is day number six and the theme and topic is cycle or cyclical because as women,
Our biology,
Our feminine nature is cyclical.
That means our body literally moves in a cycle and we are moving through different seasons just like nature does.
So we have the winter,
The spring,
The summer,
The autumn season,
Also which is happening inside of our body.
Each phase,
Each season coming with a different flavor,
A different expression of our feminine essence.
And so this embodiment practice today is designed to basically get a little taste,
A little glimpse,
A little moment of connection with the different seasons happening within.
No matter where you're at in your cycle,
When you have your menstruation cycle or not,
That doesn't matter.
In the end,
You can still play with the different energies,
The different themes and elements and embodiment spaces within that you can find connected to those different seasons.
We're going to start off in a child's pose.
So we're going to use elements of basically movement,
Yoga,
And some free flow dance in today's practice.
I'll be guiding you step by step.
And so starting off in a child's pose,
If you're not familiar with a child's pose,
You have your big toes touching,
Knees out wide,
And then you just relax your upper body down,
Placing your forehead resting on the mat.
So coming into that position,
And then I'm going to ring the bell.
One bell marks the start,
Three bells mark the end of this practice.
And so while you're in your child's pose,
Connecting to the winter element or the winter season.
You're taking a deep breath here.
Letting that exhale naturally follow.
The energy and the attention is within and drawing inwards,
Finding that stillness.
Just like in winter,
Really slowing down here.
Letting your belly soften.
Letting your shoulders get heavy.
Just letting gravity gently pull you down.
Maybe a little deeper into this posture.
Maybe your chest is coming a little closer down to the mat.
The invitation is to stay really present,
Connected,
Aware,
Close to yourself.
Maybe noticing,
Witnessing every breath in,
Every breath out.
And then from here,
Starting to bring a little bit of movement into your fingertips.
Like a little bit of movement,
Maybe in the upper body,
A gentle sway.
And then slowly there is some life returning.
The first signs of spring.
Really gently coming up out of that child's pose.
Into hands and knees,
Just like a seed gently starting to come to life into the earth.
Trying to find its way to the light.
And then gently transitioning into a ragdoll pose,
Placing your feet about hip distance apart.
Maybe a gentle stretch of the hips.
Lifting your bum up.
You can bend your knees as much as you need to.
I'm just letting your upper body relax.
You can grab opposite elbows,
Just hanging down here.
Like a ragdoll.
Maybe feeling a stretch in your hamstrings,
Your spine.
Gently sway from left to right.
And then letting your arms come down to the mat,
Slowly rounding yourself up,
Vertebrae,
Vertebrae.
Chin,
Head comes up last.
All the way to standing.
So we've arrived in this spring season.
We're just a little sprout that's growing,
Coming more to life.
I want you to raise your arms up and gently drop into a side,
Creating a little side stretch.
Back to center,
Stretching the other side.
And back to center.
Arms down by your side,
Letting it just gently float from left to right,
Creating a little stretch.
Moving your arms left to right,
Coming more and more and more alive,
More energy,
More playfulness,
While creating a twist in the spine.
And from here,
Feeling that transition into the summer.
And so for that,
We're going to do some squats,
Really some activation,
The fire,
Arms forwards,
Feet about hip distance apart,
And coming into doing some squats.
It can also be nice to place your palms in front of your chest,
Feeling that fire being activated in the body.
Sun is beaming.
It's warm.
Two more squats here.
There's a lot of aliveness,
Maybe jogging on the spot a little bit,
Playing around,
Jumping around,
Just playing,
Activating all of that summer energy.
Maybe moving your hips a little bit left and right.
Some hip circles.
Maybe a little bum shake.
And starting to make those hip circles a little slower.
Let it turn into a little bit of a flow of movement.
Lower slowly.
Making our way down as if we're a leaf falling from the tree all the way down in autumn.
I'm doing my short little hip stretch.
Nice and one foot forwards.
Your palms on the inside of your right foot.
And also the other side,
Other foot forwards,
Creating a little hip stretch.
Letting go of some tension in the hips,
Just like in autumn,
We're letting go.
And then slowly from here,
We're returning,
Letting the cycle come full circle.
Another child's pose,
Different variations.
Knees,
Big toes touching,
Forehead down,
But now you're more rounded over.
Arms down by your side,
Palms up.
Letting autumn transition into winter.
These three bells mark the start or the end of this practice.
It's a circle after all,
So it doesn't have a beginning or an end.
Slowly coming up,
Hands in front of your chest,
Taking that moment to thank yourself for showing up again.
