Our breath is always with us,
No matter where we go or what we are doing.
Most of the time,
We're not aware of it,
But in this meditation,
We'll see how the breath can calm both the mind and body.
Please,
Sit comfortably and close your eyes.
Let's start by taking a full inhalation.
As you breathe in,
Feel your belly expanding and then your chest.
As you breathe out,
Your chest contracts slightly and your belly draws in.
Let's do this again,
Inhaling fully and fully exhaling.
Now allow your breathing to be normal,
Not controlling it in any way,
Just effortlessly breathing in and effortlessly breathing out,
Allowing your mind and body to begin to settle down.
Now,
Take another deep breath in and out.
Please open your eyes slowly.
Did you notice how the activity of the mind and body followed the activity of the breath?

If you feel a little overwhelmed,
Pause and take a few calming breaths.
