I picked up an oracle deck years ago in San Diego and turned to it when I need strength or guidance.
One day I pulled the card of St.
Catherine Labore.
I had drawn her before but this time I noticed something new.
She was pointing to a necklace with the image of Mother Mary on it.
That detail pulled me into a rabbit hole.
I learned that Catherine Labore was a French saint who had visions of Mary in the 1800s.
Mary instructed her to create a medal,
Now known as the Miraculous Medal,
Which is a symbol of healing and divine intercession.
For two weeks I was obsessed.
I studied the medal,
Watched videos on it,
And I prayed to find one for myself.
Then doubt crept in.
I was in Vietnam at the time,
Which is a Buddhist country,
So I told myself there's no way I'll find one here.
Then I just let it go.
Weeks later I was having a really hard day and I ended up wandering into a local restaurant.
I realized Paul,
A recent friend I had made,
Was sitting inside.
So we ended up eating lunch together.
I opened up to him about how I was struggling that day and we started talking about life.
He shared how praying to Mother Mary had changed his life.
Then he asked me,
Do you believe in her?
I said,
Absolutely.
She's the figure I connect with most in the universe.
That's when he pulled out the Miraculous Medal from around his neck.
I was so surprised.
I told him how I had been researching it and praying for one,
But that I gave up thinking it was impossible to find in Vietnam.
What he did next shocked me.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny little box,
And inside was a second Miraculous Medal.
He told me he had been carrying it for years,
Waiting to give it to someone,
But never felt the moment was right.
Until that day,
And he handed it to me.
I walked home in awe.
It was the first time in my life I held a prayer that was returned to me in physical form.
So if you've sent a prayer out or wished into the world,
Please let this be your reminder.
You don't need to know how it will come.
It can come from the most random of moments and the most unsuspecting people.
Even if your mind says something is impossible,
Your heart only needs a tiny seed of faith,
And that's enough,
Because the universe will always find a way.
If you've had a miracle happen to you,
Please share it in the comments,
And thanks for listening.
