You can tap into peace of mind.
With the snap of a finger,
Just like that.
Because.
.
.
The truth is that you already have it.
It's already there all the time.
That is your default state.
One of serenity,
Calm.
Essentially like a wide ocean that you know,
No matter how many rocks,
Boulders or asteroids.
Go crashing into the surface,
It'll always settle back down.
So.
.
.
This concept of relaxing into zen as a word.
Is one that I wanted to remind you of because we sometimes tend to think we have to work hard.
To get it.
But that's not the case.
It's true that we may be working very hard in our regular lives,
So to speak.
We may have lots of work to do,
Lots of family responsibilities,
And so forth.
And I'm sure that you do.
And to get those things done,
Most of the time we do need a certain amount of drive,
A certain amount of yang,
A certain push.
Certain amount of discipline.
That's all good.
And at the same time,
If we can marry that yang energy,
That work hard,
Push hard,
Go forward energy,
With the yin that underlies it.
That's already there,
That's the backdrop,
That is serenity,
That is peace,
That is stillness,
That is our true default state.
We can somehow marry those concepts,
Those feelings,
Those states together.
That can be something special.
So for example,
If you do have a super busy life.
And you're trying to.
Meditate more too.
Make that life a bit more.
That's a good thing.
But what I would caution you against is when you do sit down to practice.
Not to try hard.
To get anywhere during your practice,
Just to allow yourself to kind of step back,
Slip back,
Almost snap into where you came from.
You didn't come out of your mother's womb most likely working hard,
For example.
So here in this practice for today,
Sit up straight,
Take a nice deep breath.
Posture.
And Take a long,
Deep breath.
In through the nose.
And a long,
Slow breath,
Exhaling out through the mouth and settle in.
And just kind of let.
.
.
Whatever notions you had of working hard.
Just drop away and just be here now.
Where you always were.
In a place of serenity.
And calm.
It may be hard for you to feel that if you have a lot on your mind.
But if you allow yourself to sink a little deeper and deeper.
The truth is,
That's really where you are.
Underneath those crashing waves of thought and worry.
Is always the ocean of stillness.
I encourage you to sit here as long as you like.
Relax into it deeper and deeper.
And remember that as you move through your day,
You can always slip and snap back into this state at a moment's notice because it's always there.
It is who you are.
Thank you for listening,
For your practice.
Stay and remain as long as you like.
And when you're done.
Thank yourself for sitting.
And have a great day.
