Hello everyone.
Today I want to talk about cultivating compassion in our relationships and how this simple act can bring more connection,
More understanding and fulfillment.
So compassion is more than just kindness.
It's really the ability to understand and empathize with another person's experiences and feelings.
When we approach others with compassion,
What we are doing is we are creating stronger,
More meaningful connections.
So don't get me wrong,
Being compassionate doesn't mean ignoring our own needs or tolerating harmful behavior.
Really it's instead about treating others with empathy while respecting our own boundaries.
So imagine compassion as a bridge.
It connects us to others,
Allowing us to understand them deeply and foster a sense of togetherness.
So why should we cultivate compassion in our relationships?
Well first of all,
It builds trust.
When we show compassion,
Others feel safe to open up and to be vulnerable.
Second,
It reduces conflict.
Compassion helps us approach disagreements with empathy rather than judgment.
And third,
It just deepens connections.
Compassion creates an environment where people feel valued and understood.
So now,
How can we practice compassion in our relationships?
One way is to listen actively.
Give others your full attention without interrupting or judging.
Another technique is to acknowledge feelings.
So validate others' emotions even if you don't fully understand them.
And finally,
Be kind to yourself.
Self-compassion allows us to approach others with a full heart without feeling drained.
And you know what I mean here.
A lot of us,
Most of us,
Many of us feel drained when we're around others simply because of the energy that they give off.
I'll go into this more deeply in another talk.
But in closing for today,
Compassion is a powerful tool for building fulfilling relationships.
By showing empathy and understanding,
We simply create connections that enrich our lives and the lives of others.
Thank you.
