Welcome to this wind down meditation.
In this meditation we're going to focus on letting go.
Letting go of the day that's just passed and settling into a beautiful deep nourishing night's sleep.
So find a comfortable position either lying down or seated and anchor yourself into your sit bones.
So notice the very base of your spine.
This is our root chakra energy center,
Our center of grounding,
Of safety,
Of belonging.
And we're going to work on grounding this energy center to ensure we can let go of whatever has happened today.
So make yourself comfortable,
Move your head from side to side,
Let go of the neck,
Nice and gently and slow.
Maybe some shoulder rolls just to let go of any stuck energy in the shoulders.
And now let your focus be on your breath.
Notice as the breath comes into the body and then simply releases on the exhale.
And knowing that the breath is really the only thing we can truly control.
Notice without any judgment how does the breath feel.
Is a little bit short and staggered?
Or does it feel long,
Controlled and at ease?
So bring the breath now in through the nose this time.
And see if you can send the breath a little bit deeper down into the bottom of your stomach.
And then a nice big sigh of relief as you let the breath go through the mouth.
Again bring the breath in through nose,
Send it deep down to the bottom of the stomach.
And then a big release.
To let it go.
Now bring your focus to your mind and what's going through your mind right now after your day.
Maybe conversations are still stirring in your mind.
Maybe something someone said to upset you.
To make you think,
To make you ruminate,
Something you can't quite let go of.
If there's any recurring thoughts now just simply let them be.
Bring the thought up in your mind.
And ask yourself what value is this thought bringing me right now in this moment?
And then notice if this thought is bringing you no value whatsoever.
And just let it go.
Let it wander off.
And let your mind settle.
And now notice if there is still conversations or thoughts from the day stirring in your mind.
If you're repeating a conversation.
Again just noticing how this is showing up in your body.
Maybe in your chest,
Maybe it feels tight.
Maybe you feel your hands tense or your feet holding on to this emotion you're feeling.
Even if it's excitement.
Whatever it is,
Whatever emotion that is coming up.
Again just learning to let it go.
So bringing the words or the conversations to mind or even just the thoughts.
Notice the emotions that come up.
And then just letting these thoughts and these emotions go.
Let them float away.
I want you to notice the part of your body that felt tense.
Maybe it was the center of your heart,
Your chest.
Maybe it was in your temples,
Your head.
And notice where is tense for you still.
And then just simply breathing into this area.
Just to let it go.
Let it be.
Let it soften.
Take another deep breath into this area.
Knowing that these emotions are no longer yours to carry.
Coming back to neutral.
And notice if any other tension points occur in your body.
And again just noticing breathing into this area of your body.
And just letting it soften.
And if there's anything left emotion-wise in your mind,
In your body from the day that's just passed.
Just bring it into your mind right now.
And then just letting it soften.
Asking yourself what value is it to think of this thought or feel this emotion right now.
And again these thoughts might pop back into your mind over and over again.
And the emotions might come with the thoughts.
But that's okay.
Just placing them aside.
Letting your mind relax.
Letting your body soften.
And getting ready for a beautiful night's rest and sleep ahead.
Worry-free.
Emotion-free.
Just deep,
Deep rest.
Now bringing your hands onto your heart centre.
I'd like to ask you one last question.
Tell me dear,
What do you love?
What is one thing from today you can bring to your heart centre?
What do you love?
Now bring the breath back in through your nose.
And then let it go with a big sigh through the mouth.
I wish you a beautiful rest ahead.
Worry-free.
Stress-free.
Anxiety-free.
Namaste.
Namaste.
