Welcome dear one,
Begin by finding a comfortable seat or lying down,
Allow your body to rest with ease,
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in,
Holding it softly and exhale a quiet sigh,
Let your shoulders melt,
Feel the weight of your body begin to settle,
As if the earth beneath you is quietly saying you are safe here,
Now take a moment to imagine yourself in a quiet grove,
The morning mist curling at your feet,
Birds just beginning to speak to the day,
Before you stands an old oak tree,
Broad limbed,
Time worn,
Strong,
Not proud,
Not showy,
Just deeply present,
I invite you to take an inhale and as you do,
Feel your breath drawing down into your belly,
Like water soaking into roots,
And as you exhale,
Feel that grounding deepen,
Each breath imagine you are becoming the oak,
Your spine,
The trunk,
Solid,
Steady,
Weathered but unbroken,
Your arms,
Branches,
Outstretched,
Not reaching but offering,
Offering shade,
Shelter,
Stillness,
Feel the air as it moves gently around you,
But you do not sway easily,
You know how to bend without breaking,
Beneath you roots unfurl slowly into the deep dark soil,
Seeking neither approval nor direction,
Just nourishment,
With each exhale feel your roots tangle into the quiet depths,
Feel how much space there is down there,
How the earth holds you,
How it always has,
Above you light filters through the canopy,
Golden and dappled,
It warms you without demand,
There is no need to grow faster,
No rush to bloom,
You grow because you were made to grow,
In stillness,
In time,
In your own way,
Breathe in and allow yourself to be exactly where you are,
Breathe out and release any striving,
Even the oak once began as an acorn,
And it did not know it would become a tree,
It simply trusted the dark,
The rain and the pull of the sun,
So too you can trust your becoming,
There is nothing to fix here,
Nothing to earn,
You are already enough,
Rooted,
Rising,
Real,
Begin to bring your awareness back to your body,
Feeling the ground beneath you,
The air around you,
Maybe you gently wiggle your fingers,
Roll your shoulders,
Soften your jaw,
Take one final breath,
Deep and whole,
Let it go,
And when you are ready,
Open your eyes,
Bring with you the quiet strength of the oak,
Patient,
Steady and alive,
Thank you dear one for joining me on this meditation,
I hope it brings you peace,
I hope it brings you stability in your day and I hope to join you again soon.
