Before you sleep,
Let yourself arrive here.
You've carried so much today,
Thoughts,
Tasks,
Emotions,
Expectations,
And now you don't have to hold any of it right now.
This is your soft landing,
A place where nothing is required of you and everything you feel is welcome.
You've made it to this moment and that's enough.
So find a body position that feels comfortable.
You don't need to be forced into stillness.
Just let yourself settle in whatever way feels natural.
If your mind is still buzzing or your body feels restless,
That's okay.
You're not doing anything wrong.
We're simply arriving.
Take a slow breath in and let it fall out gently.
No pressure to breathe a certain way.
Just letting the breath move at its own pace.
Feel the weight of your body being held by the bed,
The pillow,
The blankets.
You don't have to hold yourself up right now.
Let the surface beneath you do that for you.
As you settle in,
Notice if there's any part of you that's still trying to finish the day,
Replaying conversations,
Planning tomorrow or holding tension in some way.
You don't need to judge this or push anything away.
Just acknowledge it softly.
Like saying,
I see you.
You've worked really hard today.
Let your shoulders drop a little.
Let your jaw loosen.
Let your hands rest into whatever shape they naturally fall into.
If your mind wanders,
That's completely okay.
Just come back to the feeling of being supported,
Of being held,
Of being allowed to rest.
Bring your attention to your feet.
Notice any warmth or coolness,
Tingling,
Or maybe nothing at all.
Then your legs,
Your hips,
Your belly,
Your chest,
Your arms,
And your face.
There's no need to change anything.
We're just noticing,
Letting your body know it's safe to soften.
If any area feels tight or busy,
Imagine offering it a little space,
Not forcing it to relax.
If there's a part of you that feels tired,
Overwhelmed or stretched thin,
Let it know it doesn't have to keep going right now.
You might even place a hand on your chest or your belly if that feels comforting.
You've done enough for one day.
You've felt it.
You've tried.
You've cared.
You've shown up in the ways that you could,
And now you get to rest.
To prepare for sleep,
Let your breath become a little slower,
A little softer,
As if your body is quietly saying,
I'm ready to let go.
There's nothing that you need to solve tonight.
Nothing that you need to fix.
Nothing that you need to perfect.
Just this moment,
Just this breath,
Just this soft landing.
As you begin to relax towards sleep,
Take a moment to thank yourself for showing up here,
For giving your mind and body a place to rest.
If this practice supported you,
I'd love for you to follow my Insight Timer channel so you can return to these moments of calm whenever you need them.
And if you feel comfortable in the comments,
I hope you'd share with me what part of your day are you ready to sit down tonight.
Your reflections help others feel less alone.
And I read every single one.
Thank you so much for showing up tonight and rest well.
