Welcome.
As this day comes to a close,
Allow yourself to arrive fully in this moment.
There is nothing more to accomplish.
Nowhere else to be.
Let the day gently fall from your shoulders.
Take a slow breath in and a slower breath out.
In the Hebrew tradition,
There is an ancient evening blessing called Hashgivenu.
For generations,
Those words have offered peace,
Protection,
And restful sleep at the close of the day.
You don't need to know Hebrew to receive their blessing.
Simply allow yourself.
To listen.
Hashgiveinu Adonai Eloheinu l'shalom,
V'hamideinu malkeinu l'chayim,
Ufros aleinu sukat shlomecha.
Their blessing is this.
Lay us down in peace,
Eternal One,
And raise us up to life.
Spread over us your shelter of peace.
Notice what this blessing invites.
Not striving.
Not fixing it.
Not caring tomorrow before it arrives.
Only resting.
Take another slow breath.
As you inhale.
Receive peace.
As you exhale.
Release the weight of this day.
Feel the support beneath your body.
Soften your jaw.
Your shoulders your hands.
Your belly.
Let your breath become slow and unhurried.
Imagine yourself resting beneath a shelter of peace.
A place where nothing is demanded of you.
Where you are held.
Protected.
Safe.
Silently repeat Shalom.
Peace.
Shalom Feel that word settle gently within you.
There is no need to force sleep.
Simply allow yourself to rest.
In this moment.
Trust that your body knows how to soften.
Trust that your breath knows the way.
Trust that morning will come in its own time.
Take one final deep breath.
May peace surround you.
May your body find rest.
May your heart be at ease.
Shalom May this ancient blessing continue to hold you throughout the night.
Sleep well.
