The 1995 Ganesha Milk Miracle

Anuj shares his firsthand experience of the 1995 Ganesha Milk Miracle, when idols around the world—starting in India—were seen drinking milk, stunning devotees and global media. On September 21st, as a child, he witnessed this divine phenomenon unfold in his home in Canada.

I had the most incredible experience when I was seven years old in 1995 I had come home from school and my grandma just got off the phone and she had heard that in India there was a milk miracle happening and there were reports of it and a lot of people were hearing about it around the time that I heard about it and it was still daytime outside and so my grandma's like okay this is happening so let's try it and so we were at home and me my grandma and my mom were together and we prepared a little saucer of milk in a nice metallic steel container and had a nice steel spoon and we took a little milk into this little steel spoon and approached this one-inch metallic Ganesha idol that we had in our temple and we took this spoon and I think it was my grandma who went first because I was young and so she put this spoon to the bottom of Ganesha's trunk and it just started to disappear within like it was being pulled the idol and so it was like yes it took it in and it happened like you would see it just you know being enjoyed very steadily slowly going in and you imagine that it was just incredible so of course she gave a few spoons I gave a few spoons my and then my mom gave a few spoons what an amazing incredible experience and I just wish I kept going and going until it just stopped and I stopped before it stopped I think we must have gone on for at least half hour but I mean come on just keep going like how amazing is that that that was happening all over the world every Ganesha idol mine was metallic but I do believe some others that are maybe made of like marble and other sorts were also drinking I wouldn't be surprised if even a picture frame if a spoon was put to the trunk because that's the point that's the point there are videos on there are reports on BBC I just want to let you know that that it happened and I personally served Lord Ganesha and in the Swaminarayanakshapurushrutham Vedanta Lord Ganesha is an Eshwar and in celestial Hindu knowledge being passed down it is known that he is the son of Lord Shiva and so we understand that God Purushrutham takes no wives and as in Akshardham the highest abode is God who is one that is in a way the one that we all serve it's a master-servant relationship it's also beautiful because it can be a father and child relationship it's it's most to be seen as you know we we all serve God regardless of gender and as a soul we don't have gender so through multiple lifetimes and so it really just brings back to this amazing experience I'm just grateful that I always had miracles to I was listening to and hearing about miracles as a Swaminarayan growing up and a Bhagwan Swaminarayan and look I don't like to use these terms as a Swaminarayan like I'm not that the best thing about Hindu is and Vedic knowledge is hey I get to say I'm not a Hindu I'm a soul which is something that's lived you know I can extrapolate living 80 lifetimes across trillions of different births as a human and different species to say I have none of those things I imagine myself giving myself titles along the way and all those things so what is it now that I am I mean I am this because it makes me aligned to what I actually witnessed that day and what has been a recent history of very positive things so to express and enlighten people about reality maya and God who is separate and and present as well through it as Akshara push of the marriage and so these are all just Vedic terms but can be understood in other languages and so because we're all experiencing and we're all living the same reality so the infiniteness of Maya is a place where people are still experiencing bodies that are made of matter and that are experiencing feelings like anger and lust and so there is a celestial angelic form of being that's attainable through you know good behavior and practice fortune favors those that are good when it comes to this type of thing so I think that's what we all try for us okay like apparently this is what the way reality is so let's all kind of anyways just live our lives trying to have jobs have families be good but um acknowledge what's happened here I'll just happen here and like it doesn't have to diminish another religion because it's all good and all tying into all of us in all of our experiences and so I really like that because there is an answer about how we all fit in together and how that's under one God that loves us all and I'm really I'm really just super in awe and that moment was one of the very first miracles that I experienced and I've experienced many more miracles and now I gotta say my entire life is an experience of a miracle you know as someone that receives messages and acknowledgments on a daily basis as a medium and who shares that with people and I'm excited to do my first live so if you're listening to this way down the line this is before my first life so really excited to share this gift because that's what it's all about and just hoping to leave a little bit of memory for others to share of the magic that we all live in and realism of Lord Ganesha Bhagavan Swaminarayan and all the other deities that are known in this world and God present everywhere as an all-pervasive omnipresent omniscient and ever-loving God so above you know the type of things that we would be behaving like and so meaning better than us good you know and so there's an explanation about how and why things would happen with God being someone like Bhagavan Swaminarayan and so it's like that's really cool and just before I leave I'm just imagining how so many different idols around the world will be drinking milk all at the same time now if you can picture that Ganesha idols for a period of like I guess 24 hours yeah imagine what that says to science now it makes sense to me spiritually because I know the concept of Akshara and Akshara is what holds space so if you're walking somewhere you'll be like someone says hey do you know you're walking through oxygen yeah hey do you know you're walking through space oh yeah that makes sense hey do you know you're walking through Akshara well I don't know that well that's what allows space to exist a singular universe what about multiple universes well I believe in that and I'm excited to share that with you too so it's really just cool to know that because Akshara is everywhere which is conscious energy and that God in totality is present everywhere and in these deities are also if they're in a universe are able to be within the best ways to say is intertwined with that very chaitanya that Akshara to be present everywhere within that singular universe and hearing everyone's prayers and that's how angels work and so it's to say but then they're limited to that one universe whereas God isn't and so his consciousness exceeds theirs so it's really cool I'm really happy for you to have had this experience with me and I feel very warm and fuzzy thinking about it and I just know that there's gonna be more experiences like this in the future and I just hope that the world feels peaceful about it because there is a positive answer about why things are the way they are and and we don't have to be angry at God we can and we can be all happy together and so hey thank you for listening I'm Manish Kotecha,
