This short, gentle practice invites us into somatic awareness of the multidimensional nature of our belonging. Using the breath and the hands, we'll feel into our connection to ancestral, relational, and cosmological layers of loving presence. Your personhood is not solitary, and your healing does not have to be held by you alone. It is a sacred, interdependent process. And your body is a site for remembrance of this connection.

Welcome.

It's good to be with you.

Today I'd like to share a practice with you to help your body ground into your relational belonging.

Our personhood is not individual.

And it's not static.

It's a living process,

Shaped by relationships,

By ancestors,

And by the larger cosmology of which we are all a part.

This practice invites us to feel with and into this relational belonging.

I invite you to soften into your body now.

To feel into the places where you notice life moving inside of you.

Your breath as it rises and falls.

A gentle tingling sensation in your fingertips.

The rhythm of your heartbeat.

This life moving through you is a relational life.

You are made of lineages,

And your healing ripples across time.

Who you are and who you're becoming forms through resonance with others.

With mentors.

With beloveds.

With community.

With the land.

Even with unseen beings.

And you are a part of a larger order.

A divine pattern.

A sacred intelligence.

Your being is not only human.

It's multidimensional.

And this means that our relational healing is not about fixing the self.

It's about re-weaving belonging.

Your body is a ceremonial site of connection.

Let's breathe into that connection now.

We'll take three breaths together.

Each breath a reminder of the layers of your belonging.

With each inhale,

I'll invite you to feel into one of these layers.

First,

With an ancestor who guides you,

Whether they're connected to you by blood or by heart.

Next,

With a living being in your life with whom you feel connected.

This can be a friend,

A pet,

Even a houseplant.

And lastly,

With the broader field of awareness that holds all of life.

We'll inhale into each of these layers,

And with each exhale,

You can send your love back to these beings.

I'll offer some cues for where you might want to place your hands for each of these layers,

But these are only suggestions.

Your own body might know exactly how it wants to signal belonging in its own way.

So if you're ready,

Let's begin.

On your next inhale,

You can place one hand gently on the back of your head and feel for the loving presence of your chosen ancestor.

And as you exhale,

You can send your loving presence back to them.

On your next inhale,

Place one hand at the chest and feel for the loving presence of your chosen living beloved.

And as you exhale,

Send your love back to them.

And lastly,

On your next inhale,

Open your arms wide.

Feel the space around you expand and feel the loving presence of all there is.

And as you exhale,

You can send your loving presence back to the cosmos of which you are a vital and necessary part.

Release your hands.

Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.

And notice if anything has shifted in your body,

Even if it's very subtle.

When we stop trying to self-improve in isolation and instead start connecting to the relational field,

Healing can become a collaboration.

As you're ready,

You can return your awareness to the space that you're in and to this present moment.

And you can carry this awareness of your ancestral,

Relational,

And cosmological belonging into whatever comes next.

Feel free to return to this practice anytime whenever you need a somatic reminder of your connection to these layers of your personhood.

Thank you so much for practicing with me,

And I look forward to meeting you here again soon.

Much love.
