A mindful moment.

Being mindful about our connectedness.

Being mindful about our connectedness asks us to be aware of and acknowledge those we are in relationship with.

As a social species,

We need to engage and be with other beings.

Life is all about relationships.

Belonging somewhere is important to us.

Our capacity to develop successful relationships determines our success as people,

In business,

As parents,

Friends and co-workers.

Take a moment to consider who you are connected to.

Think of those that are the most important to you.

We are going to do a short practice now and I invite you to choose up to five of the most important people in your life that you wish to acknowledge today.

Got them?

So sit back,

Close your eyes and bring the first person you have chosen into your awareness.

See them in your mind's eye.

Clasp your thumb with your other hand,

Gently squeeze and say,

I'm grateful that you are in my life and say their name.

Bring the next person into your awareness.

Move to the first finger,

Clasp it,

Squeeze gently and say,

I'm grateful that you are in my life and their name.

Now the middle finger,

Clasp it and squeeze gently,

Bring the next person into awareness and say,

I'm grateful that you are in my life and say their name.

Third finger,

Gently squeeze it,

Bringing the next person into awareness and say,

I'm grateful that you are in my life and their name.

Now to the little finger,

Clasp it,

Gently squeeze,

Bring the final person into your awareness and say,

I'm grateful that you are in my life and their name.

Now see them all gathered in front of you,

Clasp your hands together and say,

I honour the role you have played in my life and I send you gratitude and love.

I honour the role you have played in my life and I send you gratitude and love.

Take a deep breath in and sigh it out.

Repeat this short practice as many times as you wish or come back to it whenever you think of others you wish to honour.

Namaste.
