Sufi ney flute and tanpura music for awe, grounding, dissociation, derealization, devotional practice & nervous system healing. Ancient, vast, deeply connected to earth and cosmos. Rumi wrote that the ney cries for its separation from the reed bed. That longing is the emotional territory this instrument was built to hold. For thirteen centuries Sufi mystics have used the ney to bridge the distance between the human and the divine. Between the scattered self and the vast ground of being. The tanpura beneath is the earth itself. Foundational. Always there when the ney returns from its longing. Together they create something the dissociated nervous system specifically needs - a sonic environment that is vast enough to contain whatever feels overwhelming and grounded enough to anchor whatever feels lost. For awe and wonder, grounding, dissociation, derealization, feeling detached, devotional practice, connecting to the divine or inner journey work.
