Transcript

The Sfat Emet teaches that the skin of creation holds windows and lattices through which hidden light breaks through and enters creation.

We can pass by these windows which offer glimpses of spiritual light without bothering to stop and peek through.

If we invoke a spirit of watchfulness,

Of wakeful and vigilant attention to each moment,

We may find that the curtain to a window of insight is temporarily lifted,

Revealing the hidden light.

Rest your eyes,

Relaxing body and breath.

Allow your eyes to close and recede heavily into the sockets,

Bringing a deep restful darkness to the space in front of the eyes.

Breathing in and as you breathe out,

Picture curtained windows in front of each of your eyes.

Through the porous fabric of the curtains,

You can see a soft,

Beautiful emanation of light.

As the curtains draw apart,

Allow the light to fill your presence with a sense of beauty and awe.
