Hello beautiful soul,
Welcome to the Soul Art Podcast.
This is a quick bite episode where I come here to give you a nudge of inspiration and just some food for the soul.
And today I want to talk to you about self-love.
One of the questions that I get asked a lot is how do I know if I love myself?
How do I know if I'm loving myself?
And I came up with a simple definition for this.
Self-love is nothing but awareness and a practice.
And what I mean by this is you can have the awareness that you are love,
That you are light,
That's your essence,
That you are worthy,
That it's your birthright to have all the abundance in the world,
That that's actually your essence,
That's what you truly are.
And so once you believe in this and once you know that you are that pure unconditional love,
Then you just need to practice reminding yourself of that every day.
So that's something that I always tell my clients and I always share on my social media is that self-love is a lifelong practice.
It's not like you're going to have a bed,
You're going to have a graduation,
And then that's it.
You know,
Once you are aware,
Once you're committed to loving yourself,
Then you need to practice.
And the practice is pretty much like meditation practice or any kind of spiritual practice.
You just do it every day and every day will be different.
And one thing that I wanted to say in this episode is that we practice self-love,
Meditation,
Gratitude.
We practice self-love when we're feeling good every day.
Of course it's easy,
If you think about it,
It's easy to practice,
It's easy to tell yourself that you love yourself when you're feeling good.
When you're feeling good about yourself,
You feel like you've achieved whatever it is that you wanted to achieve,
Or you feel like you're looking good because you've been working out.
So it's easy to look at yourself in the mirror and say,
I love myself unconditionally right now.
Right?
But the thing here is we practice self-love every day when we're feeling good so that when we're not feeling so good,
When we're feeling low,
When we're feeling,
You know,
The so-called negative emotions or what we perceive as negative emotions,
Then that's when the practice comes in handy.
Right?
It's almost like,
Well,
The analogy that I'm getting now is the analogy of watering a plant.
So you water the plant every day while you have this abundance of water so that when,
Or if,
I would say when,
When the dry weather comes or when drought may come,
That plant can live through that,
Through that period.
So that's the other thing that I really wanted to say about self-love.
Self-love is a practice.
You practice every day.
Easy to practice when we're feeling good,
But you really need to remind yourself and commit to the practice of loving yourself when you're feeling like,
You know,
You're feeling like a failure,
You're feeling like a loser,
Or you're feeling sad,
Or you lost your job,
Or you know,
You're just feeling overwhelmed.
So these are the moments that you really need to practice self-love.
So this is it for today.
Remember,
Self-love is nothing but awareness and a practice.
And in case you didn't know,
I love you and you are love.
You are worthy.
You are enough.
Connect with that love within.
You just have to connect with your heart.
You just have to take a deep breath and remind yourself of that light and that love that you are.
