Welcome to this session.
Let your body settle into the surface beneath you.
There's nowhere else you need to be for a while.
Nothing needs to be planned right now.
Nothing needs to be solved.
Nothing needs to be prepared.
Tomorrow can wait.
For now,
You are here.
In this bit.
In this moment.
And this moment is enough.
So let your eyes close.
Allow your breathing to become easy.
No need for a deep breath.
No need for effort.
Just let the air come in gently.
And then let it leave gently.
And again,
Let's slowly inhale and then an easy release.
So one more time,
Let the air come in.
And then let it leave.
Your body already knows how to do this.
You don't need to manage the breath.
You don't need to make anything happen.
You can simply allow.
Allow the jaw to loosen.
Allow the tongue to rest.
Let the area around the eyes soften just a little.
Let your forehead become smooth.
Let the shoulders fall a little lower.
And notice the weight of your body.
Away to your head.
The weight of your arms.
Even the weight of your legs.
Nothing needs to hold itself up now.
The vet is already doing that for you.
You can let yourself become even heavier,
Softer,
Quieter.
And maybe tonight has that familiar feeling.
You know,
Sunday night.
That strange sense that the weekend is ending.
That tomorrow is already leaning into the room.
Maybe your mind has started making a list.
Things to do.
Things to remember.
Things you wish you had finished.
Things you're not ready to face yet.
Maybe you're thinking about work.
Maybe it's school,
People,
Traffic,
Messages,
Meetings,
Deadlines,
Or even responsibilities.
Maybe there's one thing tomorrow that feels especially heavy.
Or maybe it's not one thing at all.
Maybe it's simply just Monday.
And somehow the mind has turned one day into a whole week.
And that is what we're going to soften tonight.
You don't need to carry Monday yet.
Monday's not here.
Tomorrow's not here.
The week is not here.
Only tonight is here.
And tonight is for rest.
So let that idea settle just a little.
Tonight is not Monday.
Tonight is not the whole week.
Tonight is only tonight,
And you're already allowed to be in it fully.
Sometimes the mind begins suffering through tomorrow.
Before tomorrow has even arrived.
It tries to get ahead and it tries to prepare.
It tries to predict every difficulty.
It tries to solve the weak in advance.
But the body pays for that rehearsal.
The shoulders tense.
The stomach tightens.
The jaw stays firm.
The mind obviously keeps moving.
And sleep,
Well,
It seems,
Further away.
So tonight,
We're going to stop carrying time that hasn't happened yet.
You don't need to live Monday on Sunday night.
You don't need to live Tuesday,
Wednesday,
Thursday,
Or even Friday.
None of those days are asking anything from you now.
They don't even exist as a lived experience.
They're ideas.
Images.
And you can let those images fade.
So notice your face again.
Now let us solve it.
Now notice your jaw.
And let it loosen.
Notice your shoulders and let them fall.
Notice your hands now and then let them be still.
You don't need to hold the week in your hands.
You don't need to hold tomorrow in your chest.
You don't need to hold every task in your mind.
For now,
Your only task is no task at all.
Just for us.
So imagine now that the week behind you is a room.
Last Monday,
Last Tuesday,
Last Wednesday.
The days that followed.
Everything that happened.
Everything you finished.
Everything you didn't finish,
And everything that went well.
And,
Of course,
Everything that didn't.
See the week behind you like a room you're leaving.
You don't need to clean it up.
You don't need to return to every moment.
You don't need to judge how well you did,
Just notice the doorway.
And then imagine stepping out.
The door can remain open for a moment.
You can look back if you wish.
And then allow it to close,
Gently with no drama.
No final statement,
The week is over.
What happened is out there.
What did not happen can wait.
You're allowed to close the door.
So let it close.
And notice the quiet that appears when you stop reviewing.
Maybe the mind says I should have done more.
Maybe it says I wasted time.
Maybe it says I'm already behind.
Maybe it says tomorrow is going to be awful.
You don't need to argue with those thoughts.
Just simply notice them,
And then move past.
The mind can make predictions.
That it doesn't make them true.
The mind can create urgency.
But it doesn't mean urgency is needed.
The mind can say you're behind,
But it doesn't mean you need to solve everything tonight.
There's a difference between a thought and a fact.
And right now,
The fact is simple.
You're lying here.
Nothing is being asked of you.
Nothing needs an answer.
And nothing is due in this moment.
The moment is quiet So take an easy breath in.
And then release it.
And imagine now that tomorrow exists behind another door.
You don't need to open it.
Not yet.
You know the door is there,
And that is enough.
Behind it may be work,
School,
Family,
Errands,
Email,
Calls,
Tasks,
And even people.
None of them are in the room now.
The door is closed,
And tonight it can remain closed.
You don't need to enter tomorrow before morning.
There's wisdom in waiting.
Morning has its own energy.
Morning has its own mind.
Morning has information you don't have yet.
So,
Let mourning handle mourning.
You don't need to do its work tonight,
So let the doors stay closed.
Maybe your mind wants to peek through though,
And that's alright.
You can simply notice and then return.
Back to the bed,
Back to the breath,
And then back to stillness.
Tomorrow can remain on the other side.
You are here,
And here is enough.
There is often a strange feeling on Sunday night,
As if rest must end before it's actually over.
As if the weekend is already gone because Monday is coming.
That is not true.
The moment still belongs to you.
The hour still belongs to you.
And this breath still belongs to you.
You don't have to surrender tonight early.
You can let Sunday remain Sunday until it's finished.
You can rest inside the time that is still here.
So imagine that now.
The week ahead is far away.
Tonight is close.
The room is close.
Your body is close and so is the breath.
Come back to what is lost.
The soft darkness behind your eyes.
The warmth around you.
The weight of the blanket.
Even the support beneath you.
Simple things.
Real things.
Things that exist now.
The mind may prefer to travel into tomorrow,
But the body can only live here.
So let the body guide you back.
Feel the head resting.
Feel the hands resting.
Feel the legs resting.
You're not running through tomorrow.
You're not standing in a meeting and you're not answering a message.
You're not driving anywhere.
You're not fixing anything.
You're lying here.
And that is all.
So let the breath slow on its own.
You don't need a cow.
You don't even need to control it.
Just notice the genera.
In and out.
In and out.
The body knows how to move towards sleep.
It has done it many times.
Especially after difficult days.
Even before difficult days.
It knows.
You don't need to teach it.
You only need to stop pulling it back towards alertness.
Let it soften and let it become even heavier.
And now imagine the whole week ahead as a calendar laid out in front of you.
Monday,
Tuesday,
And Wednesday.
Thursday,
Friday,
Maybe Saturday and maybe Sunday.
And notice how the mind can look at all of it at once and feel overwhelmed.
Too much.
Too many hours and too many needs.
So imagine the calendar becoming smaller.
Fold it in two and then fold it again.
And again until the whole week is reduced to one small piece.
And then set it aside.
You don't need the whole week tonight.
You don't even need all of Monday.
So bring your attention only to the first part of tomorrow.
Maybe waking,
Maybe getting dressed,
And maybe having something to drink.
Maybe leaving the house and maybe opening the first message.
One small beginning.
That's all.
You don't have to carry an entire day at once.
No one does.
Life comes one moment at a time.
One room,
One conversation.
One dad's one hour.
The mind may imagine the whole mountain,
But the body only takes one step.
You only ever meet life in pieces.
And let that be comforting.
You don't need to manage the entire week.
You only need to meet the next moment when it arrives.
And it hasn't arrived yet.
So there's nothing to meet right now.
You can rest.
So imagine tomorrow shrinking down even more.
Not a whole Monday.
Not a whole day.
Only the first easy action.
And then open your eyes,
Sit up,
Place your feet on the floor,
And that is enough.
Everything after that can wait until then.
You don't need to live further ahead.
Let the rest disappear into a soft fog.
You know it's there.
But you don't need to see it clearly.
You don't need a map for every hour.
You don't need to know exactly how tomorrow will feel.
You don't need to predict every problem.
You don't need to know how every conversation will go.
You only need sleep.
Because sleep will help more than another hour of mental rehearsal.
Sleep will help the memory,
The mood and the body.
Sleep will help tomorrow feel more manageable.
So perhaps the most useful thing you can do for Monday is stop thinking about Monday.
And let that sink in.
The best preparation may be rest.
Nothing more.
Just rest.
So notice your forehead again.
Soft.
Your eye is heavy,
Your jaw is loose.
Your shoulders are low.
Your arms are heavy,
Your hands are still,
And your chest is calm.
Your belly soft,
Your hips heavy,
Your legs still.
And your feet are resting comfortably.
The whole body is getting the message.
Nothing is required now.
Nothing is required now.
Now,
Maybe part of you still believes you should stay alert.
Maybe there's something you're afraid you'll forget.
And in that case,
Imagine placing it on a small piece of paper.
Whatever it is,
Just one reminder,
One task or one thought.
Write it there in your mind.
And then set the vapor on the table.
You don't need to remember it actively now.
The paper can hold it.
Morning can hold it.
You can let it go for the night.
And if another thought comes,
Well,
Place it there too.
No need for a very long list.
Just a place for the mind to set things down.
One by one set them down.
You don't need to carry them into sleep.
So imagine an empty bowl beside the paper.
Every unfinished thought can go there.
Every worry,
Every reminder,
And every question.
Every fear about tomorrow.
And then set it down.
The bowl can hold it.
You don't have to.
Now maybe the mind says,
What if tomorrow goes bad?
Set that down.
Maybe it says,
What if I can't handle it?
Set it down.
Maybe it says,
What if I'm already behind?
So that's out.
Maybe it says,
What if something goes wrong?
Well,
Set that down.
Every one if can wait until there's something real to respond to.
You don't need to suffer every possible future.
You only need to live the one that actually arrives.
And that future is not here.
The room is quiet,
The body is resting.
This is the reality now.
Stay with reality,
Not prediction,
Not rehearsal and not fear,
But reality.
You are here.
You are lying down.
You're breathing.
You're safe enough in this moment to soften.
Let the word enough become easy inside you.
Enough.
You did enough today.
You've thought enough about tomorrow.
You've carried enough,
Planned enough,
And worried enough.
Now let the day end.
There's a great relief in allowing enough to be enough.
The mind may always find one more thing.
One more concern,
Task,
Or one more reason to stay awake.
But you don't have to follow every thought.
You can decide the day is done,
Even if the list is not done.
Even if the house is not perfect,
Even if the work is not finished,
Even if tomorrow feels uncertain.
The day can still be done.
So imagine turning off a light inside your mind.
No,
Not all at once,
But one room at a time.
First,
The room of planning.
The line goes out.
In the room of work,
The light goes out.
Then the realm of messages.
The light goes out.
Then the room of obligations.
The Leiko Zone.
And now only one small light remains,
The light of awareness.
So dim and warm.
You don't have to keep the building open all night.
You can close,
You can rest,
You can go dark for a while.
Imagine a sign on a door,
Closed until morning.
Nothing more and no explanation.
Just closed until morning.
Now let that freeze feel good.
Closed until morning.
Your mind is closed for business.
Your body is off duty.
The day is done.
Nothing is required now.
You may notice thoughts becoming less clear,
And that is good.
Let them blur and let the sentences become incomplete.
Let ideas drift away before they finish.
You don't need to pull them back.
You don't need to remember what you were thinking.
And if a thought disappears,
Well,
Let it disappear.
And if another appears,
Well,
Let it pass.
The mind doesn't need to remain organized now.
Sleep is not an organized state.
It's letting go.
So allow the edge of thought to soften.
Allow words to become slower.
Allow time to become less clear.
You may lose track of how long you've been listening.
And that is fine.
You may miss some words and that's fine too.
He may drift away in return,
And that is also fine.
There's nothing to achieve.
No state of force.
You're simply giving sleep room to arrive.
And it will arrive in its own way.
Maybe slowly,
Maybe suddenly.
You don't need to know.
So take another easy breath and let it go nice and slow.
Now imagine you're on a quiet road at night.
There's no traffic and no hurry.
No destination you need to reach.
You're just walking slowly.
And each step takes you further from the weak.
Further from the schedule and further from expectations.
The first step is less planning.
Then you take another step,
Less pressure.
The third,
Less urgency.
The fourth last prediction.
A fifth less need to know.
The sixth,
A quieter body.
The seventh step,
The softer mind.
The eighth step,
A deeper sense of rest.
The ninth step,
Tomorrow feels further away.
In the 10th step,
You are here.
Nothing else matters right now.
And the road continues.
But you don't need to walk it.
You can drift.
So let the scene move on its own.
Maybe the road becomes a path.
Maybe the path becomes a field.
Or maybe the field fades into darkness.
No need to decide.
Let the mind create what it wants.
You're not denying anyone.
You're not directing anymore.
You're allowing.
That is the movement towards sleep.
Less control,
Less effort and less doing and more allowing.
You're allowed to disappear from responsibility for a few hours.
You're allowed to be unavailable.
You're allowed to be unreachable.
You're allowed to be quiet.
You're allowed to sleep.
Nothing meaningful is lost by resting.
Much may be restored,
So let yourself restore and let the mind settle.
Let the emotions soften,
And let the day dissolve.
You don't have to participate,
Sleep will do the work.
So imagine now a slow wave of ease moving from the top of the head down through the body.
Across the forehead.
Around the eyes.
Through the cheeks and into the jaw.
Down the neck.
Across the shoulders and through the arms.
Into the hands.
Across the chest and through the belly.
Into your hips and down the thighs.
The knees and the lower legs,
The feet,
The whole body becoming wider.
The whole body becoming heavier.
The whole body receiving one simple message.
You're off duty.
And again,
You're off duty.
No planning,
No fixing,
No preparing,
And no solving.
Off duty.
Now perhaps the mind begins to drift.
So let it.
You don't need to stay with me.
You can miss the words and you can lose the threat.
He can move and sleep at any moment.
My voice will become distant.
The room will become distant.
Sunday can become distant.
Monday can become destined.
Everything can move further away.
Farther,
Softer and quieter.
Until you're no longer thinking in complete thoughts.
Only fragments,
And then images.
And then nothing needs a name.
Just let yourself go.
Your mind can drift,
Your thoughts can fade.
Nothing needs an answer.
Nothing needs a plan and nothing needs a decision.
The list can wait.
The messages can wait.
The people can wait.
The work can wait.
You can sleep,
You can sleep,
You can sleep.
And if one last thought appears,
Let it appear.
And then let it go.
And if one last worry appears,
Well,
Let it appear.
And then let it go.
Why is stillness warmer than darkness?
Sleep special one.
Good night and namaste.
