Imagine a candle about three feet in front of you.
It's a long,
White,
Perfectly straight candlestick with a bright flame on top of it.
Look at the flame with a firm but comfortable gaze.
See if you can find the brightest spot within the flame,
The brilliant light at the center,
Right at the tip of the wick.
Focus your attention on that bright spot and keep your attention right there.
Look more deeply into the light with each breath.
See if you can find the center of the flame that does not flicker.
If your mind wanders to something else,
Gently bring it back to that bright,
Calm center.
Keep looking into the center of the flame.
Now mentally bring that flame into the center of your forehead,
Right between your eyebrows.
As you locate it there,
Feel waves of light flowing from the center,
Filling your entire head with a serene and peaceful warmth.
Feel how the energy from this light restores within you a sense of well-being.
When your head is completely filled with the light,
Bring the flame down into your chest and place it in the center of your heart.
Let the light expand,
Pouring through your entire torso,
Completely filling all your organs with radiant energy.
Let the light go into every space.
Feel the warmth,
The completeness of this beautiful light.
Now let the light continue to pour through your arms,
Flowing all the way to your hands and your fingertips.
Feel this beautiful light pour on down through your legs and into your feet.
When your entire body is filled with light,
Allow that light to expand,
Even beyond the limits of your skin.
Imagine the light pouring out of the left view,
First just a few inches,
Now a few feet.
And now let it stream out as far as you can imagine.
Forget about my voice,
Forget about any other people in the room,
Forget about everything.
Just feel the radiance of this wondrous light.
Now let the light pour out to the right of you in the same way.
It's getting easier.
Just let it flow.
Feel it flowing a few inches,
Then a few feet,
Until the light is so brilliant that you can't even see the right side of your body.
Now let it go beyond where the walls were,
And watch it keep going as far as your mind can imagine.
Now let the light pour out in front of you,
Pouring endlessly into the universe.
Feel the energy of it.
All you can see in front of you is wondrous light,
As if all things have been replaced by the beautiful light.
Now let the light pour out behind you,
As far as you can think.
Pour the light below you,
As if the floor has disappeared,
And above you,
As if there's no ceiling,
Until everywhere you look there is only radiant,
Peaceful light.
Now enjoy this clear space.
In this space you're quiet,
Free,
And at peace.
Here is a resting place for you.
A tranquil retreat into open space.
Now enjoy this clear space.
In this space you're quiet,
Free,
And at peace.
Here is a resting place for you.
A tranquil retreat into open space.
Our journey takes you into the realm of learning to trust the spirit within yourself,
To take a leap of faith and recognize that we may know far more than we give ourselves credit for.
The goal on our journey is to see spirit operating at every level,
Not only within ourselves,
But also within others and in the world.
Consider the possibility that there's an infinite wisdom,
Patience,
And compassion operating through each of us and everyone else.
Unleashing this knowledge opens the door to a new experience of life.
When we achieve this level of trust,
Our life changes forever.
Self-trust,
At its most profound,
Occurs at all levels of our being,
Physical,
Mental,
Emotional,
And spiritual.
The first process helps you get in touch with your body's instinctive wisdom and how to move,
What to eat,
When to be intimate,
And how to heal yourself.
Practice letting body do the job it's here to do,
Without interference from your conscious mind.
Recall a specific time,
Either recently or in the past,
When you failed to trust your body's innate ability to move without thinking.
You may find a memory of yourself dancing,
Involved in sports,
Or playing a musical instrument.
See or sense what's going on in this scene.
What did that lack of trust feel like in your body?
Notice the physical sensations and locate them in your body.
Good.
Now let that scene go.
Bring a memory now,
Of a time when you trusted your body.
Going back to a specific time,
As far back as you need to go.
A time when your body knew instinctively what to eat,
How to heal,
How to move,
And so on.
Let that memory come in effortlessly and easily.
Notice how your body is moving,
And how it's moving.
Notice how your body is moving.
See or sense what's going on in this scene.
What did that sense of trust feel like in your body?
Identify the physical sensations and locate them in your body.
Good.
Now make this scene more vivid.
Make the colors brighter.
Become aware of each and every detail.
Bring everything into focus.
Now store this scene in your body,
Where it's very easy to access.
You now easily allow yourself to trust your body's wisdom.
Now I'd like you to practice learning to trust your mind.
Your mind stores information,
But for this lesson,
I want you to connect with your mind's power to access higher wisdom.
Think of your mind as a radio that easily tunes in to any station,
Allowing information to come through.
Again,
Go back to a scene when you failed to trust your mind.
A time when you listened to the advice of others and failed to follow your own intuition.
Go back as far as you need to go.
Well,
This time quiet,
Just for a moment.
Examine the scene and notice the outcome of following the advice of others when it goes against your own inner knowing.
Sense what that's like.
Notice how you feel mentally,
Emotionally,
And even physically.
Good.
Now let that scene go.
That's it.
Release it.
Good.
Now recall a time when you trusted your intuition perfectly.
It may even be a time when others disagreed,
But you followed your heart.
Go back as far as you need to go and let that memory come easily into your mind.
Well this time quiet,
Just for a moment.
Really be in this scene.
Let the colors become more vivid and the picture or sense very sharp.
Breathe into the scene.
This is how it feels to trust your intuition.
Feel it physically,
Emotionally,
And mentally.
Now recall a specific time,
Recently or in the past,
When you were unable to share your feelings for fear of shame or betrayal.
Go back as far as you need to go.
You can be as close to this scene or as far away as is comfortable for you.
As you review this scene,
What needed to change to make it safe for you to share your feelings?
What did you learn as a result of this experience?
Good.
Now let that scene go.
Take a deep breath,
Clear your mind,
And rest.
Recall a specific time,
Now when you felt very safe,
Trusting,
And open inside.
A time when you could easily share your feelings.
Good.
Notice how this feeling of trust and openness may be different from how you normally feel around people.
Perhaps you'd like to feel this openness all the time.
What do you need to feel emotionally safe with others?
In what way can you restore the feeling of loving faith in yourself?
Let the colors and details become more vivid now.
Allow this feeling of emotional safety to be absorbed into every fiber of your being.
Let the feelings of trust and openness become one with yourselves.
Notice the information that you've received,
Because it comes from tapping into your inner wisdom.
Continue this exercise by stretching yourself a little more each day,
Opening up,
Taking a chance,
Sharing what's really in your heart,
Creating a deeper sense of trust and connection with others,
A bridge from your spirit to theirs.
Accepting all suggestions which are positive and beneficial for you,
And releasing anything that does not fit into your life at this time.
In a moment,
I'll count from one to five.
When I reach the count of five,
You'll return to full awareness,
Feeling completely rested and refreshed.
One,
Feel a new powerful healing energy flowing into your arms and legs.
Two,
Every cell in your body is functioning perfectly.
Three,
Feeling more and more fully aware and alert with every number that I count.
Four,
Coming back to full awareness,
Rested and refreshed,
However,
Sleeping soundfully and peacefully tonight at your normal bedtime.
When I reach the next number,
Fully aware and alert,
Completely back to the present.
Number five,
Eyes open,
Fully aware and alert,
Take a deep breath and stretch.
Good work,
And Namaste.
