Welcome.
Get comfortable now.
And let your body settle.
You don't need to decide anything for the next few minutes.
Nothing needs an answer.
Nothing needs a plan.
Nothing needs to be worked out.
For now,
You can simply be here.
So let your eyes close if that feels comfortable.
Oh wow,
The jaw always sucks.
Let the shoulders lower just a bit.
And let your hands rest.
And allow the breath to become easy.
No need for a deep inhale.
No need to control anything.
Just let the air come in.
And then let it leave.
And again.
A gentle inhale.
And then an easy release.
And one more time.
Slow and natural,
Let the breath find its own rhythm.
Maybe today has been full of choices.
Small ones and large ones.
Things that matter,
And things that barely matter at all.
What to do,
Where to go,
What to say,
What to eat.
What to answer,
What to ignore,
What to finish,
And what to leave.
Maybe there's one decision that's been following you around.
Or maybe there's been so many that they've started to blur together.
And now your mind feels tired.
Not only tired from doing.
I'm tired from designing.
That is much different.
Sometimes the mind reaches a point where even a small choice feels heavy.
You look at two simple options and somehow neither one feels clear.
You go over the same question.
Then again and then again.
You imagine one path.
And then another.
You try to protect what will happen.
You try to avoid regret.
You try to make the perfect choice.
And after a while the mind is no longer finding clarity.
It's only becoming more tired.
So tonight or for the next few minutes,
You can stop.
You don't have to figure it out right now.
So really let that line settle.
Like I said,
You don't have to figure it out right now.
And maybe the answer is important,
But it can still wait.
Maybe you want certainty.
Certainty can wait too.
There are times when continuing to think doesn't create a better answer.
It only creates more noise.
And a tired mind often mistakes more thinking for more progress.
Sometimes the wiser choice is to stop thinking for a while.
No,
Not forever.
Just long enough for the mind to become quiet again.
So take an easy breath and let the air go.
And now notice the forehead.
And let it soften.
And notice the eyes.
When the muscles around them become easy.
And let the jaw remain loose.
Let the tongue rest on its own.
There's nothing you need to say right now.
There's nothing you need to explain.
No decisions need to be spoken.
So let the shoulders lower.
Maybe you've been carrying all these choices there.
So let them become lighter.
You don't need to hold every possible future inside your body.
You only need to be here.
So imagine now that you're standing inside of a quiet room.
The room is simple.
It's Kong.
And there are several small boxes along the wall.
Now each box can hold one unresolved decision.
You don't have to solve anything before placing it there.
You only have to set it down.
So think of one decision that's been taking up space in your mind.
You don't need to examine it.
Just simply notice it.
And imagine placing it inside the first box.
And then close the layer.
The decision still exists.
You've not lost it.
You've simply stopped holding it.
Now notice another choice.
Maybe something smaller.
Something about tomorrow.
And then place it in another box.
Wasn't it?
Another thought,
Another decision,
And another question.
And just place it down.
Close the way.
There are no answers needed.
John sent things down.
One by one.
Maybe there's a decision about work.
So set it down.
Maybe money?
Set it down.
Maybe family.
So long now.
Maybe a relationship.
Set that down too.
Maybe it's only a small task that somehow feels large because you're tired.
So set it down too.
The size here doesn't matter.
You don't need to carry any of it for these next few minutes.
So notice the room becoming calmer.
Each question is still there.
But now it has a place.
It no longer needs to spin around inside you.
So imagine looking at the boxes.
Everything is contained,
But nothing is lost.
And none of it requires an answer right now.
Now that may feel unusual,
Because the mind often believes that uncertainty is a problem.
And wants the answer now.
And wants the path now.
It wants to know how things will turn out.
But not knowing doesn't mean something is wrong.
Not knowing is a normal part of being alive.
There are all these things we don't know yet.
You don't have to eliminate all uncertainty before you can feel calm.
You can let an open question remain open.
Even when tomorrow will be unknown.
You can let a decision wait until you have more energy.
So,
Take another easy breath.
And then let it go.
Now maybe the mind says.
.
.
And I need to decide.
So notice that thought.
And answer gently.
But not right now.
And again.
Maybe,
But not right now.
There's a difference between avoiding a decision and choosing the right time to make it.
Breaths can be a part of the decision-making.
Distance can be part of clarity.
Sleep can be part of clarity.
Why a walk can be part of clarity.
And soak in silence.
You don't have to force an answer from an exhausted mind.
Let that become clear.
You don't need to force an answer.
So imagine that one of the boxes tries to open again.
You know,
A thought comes back.
Maybe you should do this,
Maybe you should do that,
Maybe this will happen,
Or maybe that will happen.
You don't need to become annoyed.
Just close the lid again.
Not now?
The mind may reopen it later.
And that is fine.
Just close it again and say not now.
Now each time you do this,
You're teaching the mind that a question doesn't always require immediate attention.
I thought I couldn't wait A decision can wait.
The choice can remain unfinished.
You're allowed to pause.
There's no prize for deciding while exhausted.
And sometimes a choice that looks impossible tonight becomes very simple after rest.
You don't need to know whether that will happen.
You only need to give your mind the chance.
So let your body become heavier.
Let the hands remain still.
There's nothing to hold.
Let the legs relax.
Nothing to move toward.
And let the chest become calm.
Nothing to brace against.
You can be undecided and still be safe.
You can be unsure and still rest.
You can have no idea what comes next and still have a peaceful evening.
And that may be the most important thing right now.
You don't have to solve your life before you're allowed to rest.
So with that,
Salaam.
You don't have to solve your life before you're allowed to rest.
Maybe you're afraid of making the wrong decision.
So notice that.
Maybe the mind keeps searching because it wants to avoid regret.
It wants the choice that guarantees everything will work out.
But most meaningful decisions don't come with guarantees.
You choose with the information you have.
And then life continues.
You adjust,
You learn,
You change direction if needed.
A decision does not always lock every door behind you.
And even when a choice matters greatly,
You're still allowed to approach it with a rested mind.
You don't need to predict every possible outcome tonight.
Imagine all those possible futures lined up in front of you.
One future if you choose this,
Another if you choose that,
Then ten more behind it.
You could spend hours trying to see where each road leads.
Those roads don't exist.
Not yet.
They're an imagination.
And imagination can create an endless number of futures.
And you don't have to visit them all.
Just let them fade one by one.
The possible futures become a mist.
Nothing clear and nothing you need to follow.
Come back to the only place that is real right now.
This room,
This body,
This breath.
Here.
You are here.
And there's no decision happening here.
Only rest.
So feel how simple that is.
No future,
No answer,
And no outcome.
Only this moment.
So imagine now turning off the light in the room with the boxes.
The decisions remain inside,
Safe in store.
You walk towards the door.
You don't need to take any of them with you.
Leave them there.
Tomorrow may return or later.
Whenever you're ready.
But for now,
Just walk out and close the door.
Notice the small sign there.
Close for now.
That's all.
Close for now.
Not forever and not ignore,
Just closed.
So let the mind know that it doesn't need to keep watch over the room.
Nothing will disappear.
Anything important can return when you're ready.
You don't need to hold every thought active in order to remember it.
The mind can let go.
You can let go.
Let your breathing become softer.
And perhaps notice a little more room inside you.
A little last noise.
Maybe not silence.
Than just laugh.
And that is enough.
For your work today,
And namaste.
