This grounding and playfulness meditation is part of a nature series of meditations. It draws from a young tree and the gentle wind that plays around it to support you to breathe in the rootedness of the tree and allow your playful energy to arise as you breathe out. This meditation was recorded in nature so you will hear the background noise of a very soft wind and some occasional bird song. It is designed to bring the outside world into your inner world as a meditative play. This meditation can be done anytime during the day and it ends with a gong.

Welcome to this nature meditation.

Today we will draw from the energy of this beautiful young tree and the gentle breeze in the air.

Close your eyes.

Gently breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Visualize a soft breeze caressing your face,

Your cheeks,

Your eyes,

Your hair.

Feel its playful energy moving around you as you breathe in and you breathe out.

Feel yourself seated or standing.

Breathing in and breathing out.

And as you breathe in,

Feel the air slowly entering your nostrils and traveling down into your lungs.

And feel the air around you,

Softly embracing you,

Playing with you.

And bring your attention to the base of your belly,

Just below your belly button.

Continuing to breathe in and breathe out.

And as you focus your attention on the lower part of your belly,

Feel that the playful energy of the air is entering into your belly,

Like little bubbles of air.

And it's just weaving in and out,

Playing.

And you might feel some lightness in your belly,

Some playfulness.

You may even feel a giggle arise.

Allow that to happen.

As you're breathing in and breathing out,

Allow this playful energy to rise and fall and swirl around you.

And visualize yourself as a young,

Strong tree.

And feel your roots going into the ground.

And the shoots from your branches are vibrant green.

And the air is playing around with them.

Dancing and moving.

And feeling the connection to the earth in your feet and your belly.

And feel the playful energy of the wind and the air dancing around you as you're breathing in and breathing out.

And for a few minutes,

Continue to breathe and visualize both of these as you breathe in and out.

And feel the supportive energy of the tree moving through you,

Grounding you and holding you up at the same time.

As the air playfully dances around you,

Breathing in and breathing out.

Feel the dance between the tree and the air.

Breathe in the playful energy.

Feel it filling you up from your toes all the way up your legs and your belly,

Your arms,

Your neck,

And finally your face and head.

And slowly,

Slowly open your eyes and carry this supportive,

Dancing,

Playful energy with you throughout the day.

And when the wind blows on your face,

Invite her inside of you to remind you that life is play.
