Hello,
My name is Viola,
And welcome to this poem I have written for all of you.
And if you enjoy this poem,
I have several more about animals and bugs or creatures in my library.
One is called The Tiny Bug to Bring a Smile for All Ages.
I call this poem Fireflies,
Fairies at Night.
Blinking lights fill up the night,
There are no humans in sight,
Just winged moon bugs that float about,
A gift,
A surprise name,
Fireflies.
They do things upside down,
During the day they sleep upon the ground and then emerge,
When evening comes around to dance like little fairies with crowns that shine.
Like us,
They have differences,
And come in all shapes,
Colors,
And sizes,
Not one is better or less than the other,
For the unity shows up when they fly together and produce this twinkling spark,
That people will travel thousands of miles to watch at national parks.
Now if you catch a firefly,
And hold it in a glass jar,
Only keep it for a little while and release them back out,
Up towards the stars.
