Welcome to this short practice for centering yourself.
Begin in a seated position or lying down.
Give yourself a moment to arrive.
Wherever you are.
Make yourself comfortable.
Let your body settle.
Let your shoulders soften.
Let your hands rest wherever they feel natural.
Without effort.
Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a deep,
Slow breath in through the nose.
And gently release it out through the mouth.
Again,
Breathe in through the nose,
And this time breathe out through the nose.
Now bring your attention to the feeling of your body.
Notice where you were being supported.
The surface beneath you.
Let the gentle weight of your body rest in here.
Allow yourself to settle into that support.
There is nothing you need to fix or change in this moment.
Nothing you need to figure out.
Nowhere to go.
Just notice your breath moving in.
And your breath moving out.
With each exhale.
Allow yourself to arrive a little more fully.
Here in your body.
Here in this moment.
Take one final breath in.
And slowly let it go.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes or lift your gaze.
Know you can return to this breath whenever you need.
