This episode explores John 14:27 through the lens of spiritual deconstruction and radical self-honoring. If you’ve been taught that peace is something you have to earn, perform for, or be perfect to deserve—this is your reminder: peace is your birthright. We’ll unpack what it means to reclaim your calm in a chaotic world and introduce today’s Daily Mantra for the Soul: “I focus on peace. I focus on my own peace and happiness.” Use this as a grounding moment in your day. Come back to it anytime you feel pulled away from yourself. Breathe with it. Speak it. Let it guide you. Follow for more Daily Mantras for the Soul—60-second tools to help you ground, heal, and rise.

Welcome to Unchurching the Podcast.

I'm your host Titus Glenn aka Rev Adedamola.

This is a sacred space to heal from religious trauma,

Release inherited fear and reconnect with your soul.

A space where you are free to tap into the God of your own understanding and allow your faith to evolve.

Because your spirituality was never meant to be controlled.

It was meant to be lived,

Felt and owned.

Today's inspiration comes from John 1427.

Peace I leave with you.

My peace I give you.

I do not give to you as the world gives.

Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Now traditionally we were taught that peace is something God gives if we're doing the right things.

But when we unchurched this scripture we realized Jesus wasn't offering peace as a reward.

He was naming it as our birthright.

He says I give you peace not the kind the world gives.

That means this peace is not transactional,

Not earned by performance,

Not dictated by how perfect your life looks.

The peace of the divine or God is internal,

Is grounding,

Is yours.

When we stop outsourcing peace to people,

Outcomes or approval,

We reclaim ourselves.

So today's mantra is a soul boundary and a breath of release.

The daily mantra for the soul is I focus on peace and I own my own happiness.

You don't owe your peace to anyone.

You don't have to explain it.

You just have to honor it.

So we take a breath and repeat after me.

I focus on peace and I own my own happiness.

I focus on peace and I own my own happiness.

Now let this soften your nervous system.

Let it guide your choices today.

Use it as a reset whenever the world pulls you out of alignment.

Thank you for listening to Unchurching the podcast.

This affirmation is a part of the daily mantra series located on Inside Timer,

Healing,

And realignment.

Come back tomorrow for a new mantra to carry with you and always remember you can find yourself,

You can be yourself,

And you can let everybody else do the same.
