Welcome.
If you're listening to this,
There's a good chance it's late.
Maybe your body is tired,
But your mind won't slow down.
Thoughts looping and replaying,
Trying to make sense of things that feel bigger in the dark.
You're not doing anything wrong.
This is a space to gently come back to yourself.
If you fall asleep during this meditation,
That's okay.
Let's begin.
Take a slow breath in and let it go softly.
There's no need to force sleep,
No need to change anything.
Just notice you are here,
Lying down and being held.
There's something about this time of night where everything feels louder,
More urgent and more overwhelming.
The same thoughts that felt manageable earlier can feel heavier now.
But just notice that.
This is what the mind does when it's tired.
It searches,
It replays,
It tries to find certainty.
But you don't need to solve anything right now.
Instead of trying to stop your thoughts,
Imagine you are watching them from a distance,
Like they are drifting across your awareness.
You don't need to follow them or fix them.
Just let them move.
Now bring your awareness gently to your body.
Your head resting,
Your shoulders softening,
Your chest rising and falling.
Your legs heavy,
Supported.
And now your breath.
Inhale and exhale.
Nothing to control,
Just noticing.
Now as you continue to breathe,
Begin to repeat quietly in your mind,
I don't need to figure this out right now.
I am allowed to rest.
This can wait until morning.
Let the words be soft,
Almost like a whisper,
With no effort.
Just letting them drift through your awareness.
And again,
I don't need to figure this out right now.
I am safe to rest.
Nothing is required of me in this moment.
Let your body sink just a little deeper.
Let your breath become a little slower.
Easier and quieter.
The thoughts may still come and go and that's okay.
You don't need to engage.
You can rest,
Even with thoughts present.
Now there's nothing more you need to do.
Just continue to rest with your breath.
Let each exhale soften you a little more.
I am allowed to rest.
I can let go for now.
If sleep comes,
Let it come.
If not,
Just stay here.
Resting.
Nothing to solve.
Nowhere to go.
Just this moment.
Just this breath.
