Welcome to your water element meditation.
Take a moment to find a comfortable position,
Whether you're sitting or laying down.
Allow your eyes to gently close or soften your gaze downwards.
Take a deep gentle breath in and a slow releasing breath out.
Today we invite in the wisdom of the water element,
The profound power of softening,
Soothing and allowing ourselves to flow.
As you settle,
Bring your awareness inward without judgment,
Just notice.
Is there any tightness,
Any bracing,
Any sense of being fired up or pushing,
Perhaps in your jaw,
Your shoulders,
Your belly.
This is simply your brilliant nervous system trying to protect you.
Acknowledge it with kindness,
Perhaps you feel a subtle heat,
A sharpness or a need to control.
Just notice where this energy resides in your body right now.
Now I invite you to imagine that you are gently placing your hands under cool running water or even into a bowl of water.
Feel the cool,
Gentle embrace of the water on your skin.
Imagine this water as a compassionate presence,
Ready to receive whatever you've been holding.
As you feel the water,
Take a slow,
Deep breath in and as you exhale,
Let out a soft,
Audible sigh.
Imagine any tension,
Any heat,
Any rigidness,
Quietly pouring out of your fingertips,
Dissolving into the water.
Silently say to yourself,
I release what I no longer need to carry.
Feel the water washing over you,
Soothing,
Cooling and softening.
Continue to breathe deeply,
Feeling the gentle rhythm of your breath.
Visualize yourself as a flowing river,
Gracefully navigating around any obstacles.
Notice how water doesn't fight,
It finds its way through softness and persistence.
Allow this image of fluidity to permeate your entire being.
Feel your muscles softening,
Your breath deepening,
Your mind becoming more spacious.
You are safe to soften.
You are safe to release.
You are safe to flow.
Take one more deep,
Cleansing breath,
Allowing the calming energy of the water element to settle within you.
Feel a renewed sense of peace,
Flexibility and inner calm.
When you're ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the room,
Wiggling your fingers and your toes and slowly opening your eyes.
Carry this feeling of fluidity and softness with you as you move through your day.
