Welcome to this joyful inner child meditation.
Take a moment to find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
This is your time to disconnect from everything around you and connect with yourself.
Take a deep breath and when you're ready,
Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a moment now to connect with your breath.
To deepen your breath and connect more with your body,
I invite you to inhale for a count of five and exhale for a count of five.
Go ahead and release any breath that you have now and let's begin.
Inhale two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Exhale two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Inhale two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Exhale two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Now continue with two more rounds on your own at your own pace.
Good.
Now go ahead and let go of the counting and allow yourself to breathe in whatever way feels good and natural and comfortable for you.
Notice how you feel.
I am now going to lead you through a visualization that will help you to connect with your inner child.
Your inner child is always within you no matter your age and no matter what experiences you go through.
They are longing to connect with you.
Are you ready to meet them?
Imagine you are standing in a long hallway with doors on each side of you.
Each door is glowing a different color and as you walk down this hallway you feel called to one door specifically.
It's as though it is inviting you to open it.
As you move to turn the knob and open the door,
You see that what's inside is one of your favorite places in the world.
A place where you feel happy and safe.
Where are you?
It does not matter if this place is real or imagined so long as you feel happy and safe.
Take some time now to explore this space and allow yourself to soak in everything that's here.
As you are walking along,
You feel a small hand grabbing yours.
You look down and are amazed to see that it's your inner child.
They look up at you with the biggest smile and the brightest eyes.
You can't believe it.
You bend down right away and look lovingly at them.
You haven't seen them in so long you can't help but to give them a huge embrace.
As you hold them,
You find that you have so many things you want to say to them.
Go ahead and whisper whatever you wish to say to your inner child now.
When you've finished,
Your inner child asks you a question.
What question do they ask you?
Once you've received the question from them,
Go ahead and respond.
Now it seems that your inner child has something they want to share with you.
They might be a little shy so listen closely.
What do they say to you?
Now it's your turn to ask them a question.
What question do you want to ask them?
Take a moment to listen to their response.
Allow their words to fill your heart.
As they finish speaking to you,
Wrap them up in a warm embrace and let them know how much you love them.
As you stand up,
You find that you are still holding your inner child's hand and that they are still right beside you.
You realize that you get to explore this beautiful place together now and they are so happy that you are with them.
What do you want to do together here?
Do you want to skip?
Do you want to pick flowers?
Do you want to dance or play?
Let yourself do whatever brings you and your inner child joy in this moment.
Let yourself be filled with laughter and connection.
Know that this place always lives within you and so does your inner child.
They are with you at all times and you are always welcome here.
Take a moment now to breathe deeply and notice what you are feeling.
I invite you to rest one hand on your heart and breathe deeply into all that you are feeling right now.
Now gently start to come back into your body.
Start to wiggle your fingers and toes.
And when you are ready,
Open your eyes.
