Welcome to this ocean side guided meditation for sleep.

Feel free to gently close your eyes as we get adjusted for bedtime.

As you're lying there,

I'd like for you to take a moment to imagine that you are in a different space.

And this space is inside a home of your own,

A home which sits shore side on a private beach.

And you are feeling safe and secure in your room.

And the temperature of the air is very pleasant this evening.

And because the weather is so calm tonight,

So mild,

Before entering your bed for sleep,

You decide to open the window to enjoy the sounds of the nearby ocean.

Knowing that it has a way of washing the day away.

Always preparing you to be sent in to sleep.

Taking a deep breath here in your resting place.

And on the exhalation reaping the rewards of the breath as you notice any existing tension disappearing from your body.

And again,

But this time taking a bit of a deeper breath.

And out.

Letting yourself detach.

And even longer than the last two,

One more deep breath here.

This time holding the breath for a few seconds at the top.

And exhale.

Letting it all go.

Great.

The waves dance with the sand on the shore,

Gently lapping onto the beach.

Finally to be pulled back out by the current into the abyss.

Joining the infinite vastness of the mysterious waters.

And as you hear this dance from the comforts of your cozy room where you lay,

You might like to give those waters permission to be the symphony which will sometime sooner or later carry you into sleep.

And just as a single wave appears with its white crest spreading out,

Only to then reverse,

Completely disappearing.

Your thoughts begin to mimic this fluid dance.

And just as they come,

You then send them off.

And they disappear,

Blending back in seamlessly.

And it feels good to let them go,

Letting the thoughts just go.

And if one reappears,

Simply sending it back out.

In the auditorium of the open sky,

It becomes increasingly more difficult not to give those thoughts a rest.

The waves that keep getting pleasantly lost in the fluidity of the sea.

So that before you know it,

The vibrations of the waves are helping your unconscious to wash away any part that still remains.

And every motion that sends waves of sound vibrations into your ear helps to send you overlapping into deeper layers of relaxation.

With the next stirring of the waters,

Grazing the shore to cleanse away any tension from your body and your mind.

It begins at the crown of your head,

Trickling down from here over your scalp,

Cleansing tension away from the muscles around your eyes,

From your nose,

Cheeks,

Mouth,

And jaw.

Relaxed,

Relaxed.

Very good.

The waves of seashells gathering along the coast,

Spinning and colliding,

Creating a gentle rhythmic song.

Nice fully whirling,

Sending more waves of calm to travel down your neck,

Over the coasts of your shoulders,

Sending ripples of relaxation down through your arms.

Deeper and deeper as the sensations travel down,

Passing your elbows and farther down to your wrists,

To your hands,

Telling your arms to completely let go and relax.

Ensure whether the heaviness of your arms has become a pleasant observation,

But you can allow your chest to now release any tension,

Soaking up feelings of comfort.

Feeling safe,

Loved,

And protected as you allow it to loosen your muscles.

So fortunate to be able to hear the waves performing this bedtime ritual,

While all the muscles in your back and stomach are becoming more and more relaxed.

Lifting and feeling weightless now on these territories.

Moving into states of pleasing trance,

While the waters are spreading and expanding out,

Forming a sheer velvet sheet,

Blanketing the cool and sparkling sands.

Hearing these sounds as the weightless awareness drops down to your hips now,

Swirling around,

Returning to the layers,

Pouring over,

Creating a soothing ricochet as it relaxingly recoils back into the deep.

Withdrawing,

Returning yet again.

This dance is so effortless that the ocean itself could fall asleep.

The waves becoming its deep and steady breath,

Healing as it rests,

Still breathing this song as you send it down.

Getting your legs to join in the relaxation,

Passing through your thighs,

Knees,

And into your feet.

Initiating your entire body now into a state of sleep,

Or edging closer as the ocean and your body are feeling the weightlessness of air,

And too the heaviness of water that you are feeling ready to float away entirely.

Ready to give in to sleep.

So I will count down 11 waves while your relaxation levels increase with each descending number you hear.

And I don't know whether you will fall asleep after the fifth wave or the ninth,

Or whether you will fall asleep after the first wave.

But it really doesn't matter much.

So just prepare to drift deeper as I begin counting down the waves before they come to meet the shore.

11,

Feeling calm,

Feeling relaxed.

10.

So relaxed as the currents pull the sea and the mellow lapping on the shore creates a calming song.

9.

A bit deeper now,

Securely sent deeper,

While the vibrations of clinking shells rattle beneath the surface,

Vibrating away anything that is left.

8.

And more immersed as the crest fades into translucent waters,

Wandering off,

Closer and deeper down.

7.

Tranquility washes over you as you descend.

8.

6.

Completely immersed in relaxation.

Floating weightlessness,

Safe and serene waters enhancing your relaxation.

9.

5.

Absorbing all healing properties as it clears away,

Allowing you to float down as you are just about halfway there to infinite realms of peace and of sleep.

10.

Such soothing sounds carrying you,

Feeling so relaxed as it sinks.

3.

Being calm,

Allowing you to sink down.

2.

Unconsciously enticed,

Exploring these depths with only one wave left until you have reached the farthest point into relaxation before.

1.

Sleep.

Allow yourself to fall asleep now.

Entering sleep as you safely continue to float and to drift deeper,

Pleasantly phasing through boundaries into the most precious dreams in which you know you are safe,

Loved,

And protected.

To sleep through the night,

Collecting a surplus of positive,

Loving energy and feeling so good as the waves endlessly carry you deeper,

Floating you farther along the way.

Wishing you a most pleasant sleep.

Until next time,

Good night.
