This is a five-minute meditation to begin your day. We’ll settle into presence before the mind falls into routine. When thoughts and patterns arise, we’ll let them be, without grabbing or resisting. Then we’ll check in with what matters most today.

Good morning.

Let's bring our attention right to this moment,

Seeing it for exactly how it is right now.

In the morning,

Our habitual patterns haven't fully engaged yet,

Which makes it easier to notice the mind's moment-to-moment shifts without adding any commentary or story.

So bring your attention to all of your experience and just notice what there is to notice.

Notice if there is any kind of leaning into experience rather than simply settling into the moment exactly as it is.

Everything else can wait.

Right now,

Just be fully present in this beautiful time of transition where we're no longer sleeping,

But yet also not fully awoken for the day's events.

The first few minutes of each day are also a beautiful time to really pay attention.

Notice that push-pull of the desire to fall into patterns.

See if we can sink back into our deeper aspirations.

What do we really aspire to for today?

Do we aspire to act out our habituated patterns?

Or do we aspire to treat every moment with openness,

Spaciousness,

Luminosity,

And love?

Can we aspire to more kindness and compassion and to heed our own internal wisdom?

As we begin to close this session,

I'd like to thank you for your practice and thank you for the light that you are bringing into the world today.
