I'm Stone,
And I'm going to take just a few minutes to guide you through a little daily check in a way to start your day set your intention.
So take out whatever it is you're going to use to journal.
Maybe that's a notebook.
Maybe it's a planner.
Maybe it's a file on your computer.
Whatever you're going to use,
Get that out and write today's date and maybe the time at the top.
Great.
Now before we begin,
Take a moment and just take a deep breath in through your nose and let that breath out through your mouth.
Maybe take another few breaths like that.
Let your shoulders relax.
Get clear about where you are.
Now let's check things out.
What's the weather like today?
Make some notes.
Are the skies dark?
Are they bright?
Is it chilly?
What do you know about the world around you?
How does your body feel?
Are there aches and pains?
Do you feel good?
Maybe you've done some stretching or movement this morning.
Maybe you feel warm and sleepy.
How does your body feel right now?
How did you sleep?
Do you feel rested?
Are there fragments of dreams or thoughts you had on waking that you want to make note of?
What's your overall mood like right now?
What's the attitude right now that you're bringing into your day?
And where do you have hope?
What would you like to be true today?
Is there a value or a principle or an attitude that you would like to claim for today to guide you as you go through whatever the day has for you,
Planned or unplanned?
What quality do you want to bring to today?
And now take a moment to consider what is ahead of you today that you already can plan on happening?
Can you identify three places you would like to focus today?
Maybe that's a task or a project.
Maybe that's a meeting for work or for pleasure.
What three places do you wish to focus your attention for today?
Write them down.
Keep them in front of you so you can remember what's important.
And now take another deep breath in and let that breath out.
Look over what you've written.
