Take a moment before you eat to bring your awarness fully into the experience. This is a quick practice meant to be done right before a meal, or at any time you need to reframe the way you think about food.

Take a minute and close your eyes.

Bring your full awareness into the experience of eating.

Practice visualizing your meal on the entire path it took to get to you from seed to plate.

See the seed of the plant in the soil.

Feel the warmth on your skin like the sun shining down and giving it nutrients to grow.

Imagine the people who tended to the plant,

Watering it,

And harvesting it.

Projecting gratitude for those people who nurtured the plant before it came to you.

Now bring to mind who prepared the food.

And if you prepared this meal for yourself,

Lovingly imagine yourself as you made your meal.

Feel the loving energy they put into the meal when it was made for you,

Imagining all of the nourishment and love in the meal that will go into your body.

Slowly open your eyes and deeply enjoy your meal with gratitude for everything that it's giving you.
