Anytime I get stressed,
Anxious,
Or agitated,
I take a mental vacation.
I create a vision of somewhere I'd rather be,
Something I'd prefer to be doing other than what I'm doing at the moment.
And it gives me a little escape,
A mental vacation in the kingdom of my mind,
Where I'm able to visualize myself doing something more enjoyable than whatever it is that's instigating the feeling of frustration or agitation or anxiousness.
Especially when I'm standing in line or sitting in traffic,
I find it so much more enjoyable to use that time creating a vision of a place I've always wanted to go,
Focusing on a feeling of accomplishment and success doing something I've always wanted to do.
And the more energy I put into creating the vision,
Focusing on the details of the vision,
The effort I put into the details distracts me from the physical reality.
So I'm not so focused on standing in line or sitting in traffic.
Instead,
I'm focused on the ability I have to create anything I want.
I've always wanted to travel to Fiji,
So I create a very clear vision of myself lying on a beach in Fiji with beautiful scenery all around,
And I focus on the details of the scenery.
I create a very detailed vision of where I want to go,
And it distracts me,
At least for the moment,
From where I am.
So if there's a point today where you feel anxious,
Agitated,
Frustrated,
Take a mental vacation in the playground of your mind and allow yourself to get distracted from the physical reality and take a moment to play in the infinite possibilities of your mind.
